Was in Connecticut this week and passed Keon Williams. One of my all time favorite Iona Players who finished up at Pace.
What a great young man. Could not have been nice. He immediately shook my hand and I thanked him for his contribution to Iona.
Have to say our coaches turn our great alumni. I'm sure all of you have stories like this.

I remember Keon playing at the Bergen County NJ Jamboree (county championship) as a hs senior completely outplaying an "elite" recruit who was headed to the Big East. Also in the tournament was Kyle Smyth, one of my all-time favorites.

His ruptured achilles just prior to the start of his freshman year likely prevented him from reaching his full potential.
If my memory is correct, I believe it occurred during Meet the Gaels.

Super nice kid. We haven't had a bad apple in many years which I believe is totally coaching related. We've not sacrificed success in any way like other teams.
It would be great to have an Iona alumni night. Sort of our version of an Iona old timers days.
