The only trap for Fordham fans is believing their program is ever coming out of its coma.
There are guys over there predicting 20 wins and a NIT bid. They don't understand to get an NIT at-large they'd need a RPI in the 60's low-mid 70's. Very hard to get there without playing a top 150 team in the OOC. That's the point of RPI. You can't just schedule a bunch of cupcakes, claim a bunch of wins, and get an at-large to the NCAA or NIT. Now I get that if your team hasn't been in a post season tournament in 25 years, you might not realize that.

Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein 1h1 hour ago Indiana edges St. John's in Maui, but story of game is the difference in the Red Storm today versus yesterday. Real signs of growth. #sjubb

Fordham is out of their coma, and if they had Paschall this year, they would have at least come very close to making the NIT (probably they would have made it). They're gonna contend for an NIT berth this year, but come up short. I said this during last season, that they would be good this year and they are. Don't understand why Bill doesn't think they are going to be good. He follows them. They're playing the D this year, but we'll see.

I agree Fordham will be much better this year and I expect them to beat St. John's at home in a close game next week but the NIT is not the old NIT. You basically have to be a bubble team or a regular season champion from one of the smaller leagues now to make the NIT and they won't be a bubble team so no NIT. I do think they have a chance at the CBI or CIT (not sure if atlantic 10 teams qualify) or the new tourney in Vegas.

I guess it depends on what we mean by "good." They are playing a very weak OOC schedule. All but two games are at home. One was at Texas-Arlington, which they lost. They play BC at the Barc in December. Other than SJ's - rebuilding and Manhattan, which played with 5 scholarship players tonight due to half the team being injured, they play teams like Colgate, FDU, Maine, Coppin St, Central Conn, etc. I believe they are improved and actually being coached and I expect they will win most of these OOC games. Let's say they win 9 and go 9-1. A-10 play is going to be a different can of worms. They should be able to beat the bottom dwellers GMU, UMASS, etc. depending on where they play. Let's give them 9-9 in A-10 play, and give them 18 wins. How are they going to get an RPI in the sixties, low seventies with that OOC schedule? It would be very hard. I think they are better coached and improved though and good for them.

So the Fordham bandwagon has started........They get beat by Texas Arlington who ever the hell they are, then beat FDU, Queens (Div2) and Colgate 2 of the worst teams in Div. 1...
They hopefully will be better, but any change will be an improvement......

1. Fordham is a bit better 2. No way they come close to 9-9 in the A-10 That is all...

Had to get them to .500 to have the NIT discussion.
Oof, if they win 9 OOC games, 6 or 7 conf. wins should get them to .500

LOL at the Brailler twitter feed. Jumping all over Monmouth. Couldn't wait to drop the Gaels. My guess is that he'd defend SJ's a little better. #sotransparent.

He would never admit but he hates Iona, and he has no respect for Cluess' offensive style.

Don't know why the guy would hate Iona. I think he hates anyone who could challenge SJ's. And I think its because he believes backing SJ's would get him more readers, etc. I think its purely business, although not really journalism. If writing positively about Iona got him a ton of readers, he'd be a big cheerleader, IMO.

What is funny though is that guys like this who are in bed with SJ's will forsake a NY team for a team that is basically in Philadelphia in order to protect Sj's. I think that's what I find most frustrating. I mean isn't the Post a NY paper?
Here's a hypothetical Post backpage:
ST JOHN's ENTERTAINS FIVE STAR RECRUIT
Iona over Duke in National Title Game.
