Honestly, I don't believe the SJU-Cluess stuff the last week will have a major impact. Sure, it can't hurt to have had his name out there, but it's not like Cluess was a unknown HC. Cluess and Iona received more positive publicity on a national level for being the only coach/program to have won 4 straight conference championships. While Iona lost the UNC game, the entire country watched Iona play a great 20 minutes on national TV at a prime time of 9PM on a Friday night. Can't get any better exposure than that. While the speculation of Cluess leaving for SJU will never be a concern to recruits in the future, it wouldn't shock me if Willard has a great season next year that he moves on, and Seton Hall comes knocking on the door. I would imagine Seton Hall will get lots of pressure to hire Cluess, especially if Iona has a big season as well next year. Geeze. Enjoy the moment for a minute Sharkey! Didn't mean to come across as negative, but yeah I could have written my post better. Believe me nobody is happier than I am that Cluess is back. If you could see my battles with Siena fans over Cluess on twitter, especially the DMS that are going back and forth, you would see how thrilled I am Cluess is still the coach at Iona. Point I was trying to make is the accomplishments that Cluess and Iona have achieved, especially after the 4peat, has made Cluess a well respected and known name in the recruiting world both on the national and local level. My bad if it came across poorly

Sharkey, didn't take your post as negative at all -- insightful and accurate, as always.

If anyone is to blame here it is my tweet, not Sharkey's. He just thoughtfully, and honestly, answered my tweet.

Stole this from Guy's twitter. Obviously the odds are not good with that list of programs, but love to see the staff going up against the big boys, and the Iona brand listed with them. Gotta be in to win it.

AJ McNeil ranked #98 JUCO prospect. Pretty impressive. Also a couple other JUCO kids that Iona has been linked to ranked or honorable mention, including Devale Johnson who I would love to see Iona get a commitment from.

Gotta find rare players like Momo, Optimus Prime, DL3 who put aside egos and are content playing at the mid-major level.
Iona has a lot of former players earning a paycheck playing professionally.

AJ McNeill brings our roster, for next season, up to 11 players. Still room for two more.

It is quiet. No news even on 2020s. There are a number of very interesting players in the transfer portal that we have some past connections to. Hopefully one of those will work out.
