i honestly think only 1 kid might not return so i don't see us rushing to fill the scholly we still have we usually get that 1 suprise that drops to us because no one wants them or we might be waiting for agee's brother to qualify

Don't know the dynamics of not offering a scholly to an injured player.

So right now there is 1 open scholarship? If Ortale is a walk-on then that makes 2. Find it interesting that he hasn't signed his LOI yet, so who knows what's going on with his recruitment. Agee's brother looks like a solid recruit, but how long do you wait? There are recruits committing to other programs that have been offered by Iona that would have helped as well as kids still available that would be solid additions. Quite frankly, the staff needs to free up another scholarship.

Former Niagara commit 6'7" 235lb PF Amadou Traore (Brooklyn Collegiate & Next Level Prep) is now fully qualified. We showed interst in him. We might want to revisit this kid.

Kid is pretty good with a college ready body. 2 other kids with ties to Brooklyn Collegiate are also available, 5'9"PG Glen Anderson and 6'7" JUCO SF Devale Johnson. I would take all three right now.

Getting all three recruits from Brooklyn Collegiate would be awesome. We get the pg some here have been clamoring for and two bigs. Also would be a plus since they know each other and have played together. Very intriguing!

Devale Johnson is an Isaiah Williams clone with better shot blocking skills. He has been on campus a bunch of times.

86 What are our chances. Thanks For Devale Johnson? Before he was forced to go the JUCO route we were at the top of his wish list from what I understand. If his grades are in order we would be stupid not to grab this guy. This year he averaged 22.6 minutes, 13.3 points, 8.6 rebounds , 1.8 blocks while shooting .428 from the 3. He is not streaky... very consistant.

Busy weekend of AAU/JUCO events winding down today. Will be interesting to see if there will be some news on commitments and offers this week. I know the staff is out there working hard recruiting, but have to say it's amazing how under the radar they are. Have seen reports on every other MAAC program being seen at a event, yet not one about Iona. Hoping for some good news soon.
