Worth a listen. No reference to Washington being hurt. He said team will be different due to more front court size and athleticism.
"AJ on IV's all weekend" for the Maac tourney. Yeah it's an excuse but it also is a legitimate excuse. Grasso wasn't trying to make excuses it just naturally came out with the questioning. I heard on this board AJ was sick but just looking at him in the maac championship it was obvious, he could barely move and IW had nothing left either because of the foot. Iona was beat by an equally talented Manhattan team that wanted it more in 14, but in 15 they won because Iona was far from 100% and I don't care who thinks this is sour grapes or whining, I know it is the truth. Grasso blamed it on not making shots, which is true, but the not making shots was because Iona was far from 100%. Iona will win it this year barring injuries or sickness.

Sick or not, I don't accept it. Teams survive injuries and illnesses. Iona itself won like a million games when IW was hurt. I feel like we have 38 excuses every time we lose. How about just winning when you're expected to, with no excuses.

So IW was on one leg the day before, then? Yes, on adrenaline, but then it catches up with you and fatigue takes over adrenaline. Sometimes teams make excuses and sometimes they have excuses, this team had an excuse. It looks worse when you lose two years in a row but the previous year the better team that night won, last year they didn't have anything left to win that game.

Guy, have to agree and disagree with you. Where I agree is that who cares about excuses, we lost. The bottom line is the bottom line. Where I disagree, is when you compare having IW out for extended time to AJ's sickness during the MAAC tourney. One was during the middle of the year and one at the season's end. It's called "running out of gas". But the bottom line is the bottom line. And I don't know about you, but I've closed the book on last season but am ready to open the book on this season.

Then we have "run out of gas" way too often under Cluess.

Guy, check TC's record. In ever year under TC we have have played post-season games. I think he is the ONLY Iona coach who can make that claim, but am not sure about Brother Loftus. Problem is unrealistic expectations, though I do realize that fan is short for fanatic. I hate to run out of gas but TC has taken us on a very nice ride. And I'm told that he has added an auxiliary gas tank, this year. SO enjoy the ride.

I am glad I grew up with a generation that accepted and was thankful with 'Satisfaction' although harder to obtain was sweeter to enjoy...

You guys are misinterpreting my sentiments. Of course I am happy with where the program is. Fun to watch and among the top 75 programs in the country, no doubt. And yes, a good 9 other maac programs wish they had our "troubles."
While it is a generational thing to want more, it's also your generation that instilled a finish-what-you-started mentality into people like me. Iona has not done this. No sense in building the prettiest house on the block and then adding graffiti to it.
