This game reminds me of Wolford last year. Were we more athletic? Yes. Did we play faster? Yes. Did we win against an experienced team bringing back all five starters on the road very early on, while integrating in some new guys? No.

Based on game notes looks like Much is eligible, I think that is the "surprise " iona85 talked about.
Also projected starting 5: aj, sed, iw, roundtree and bessick.
One other minor tidbit, Notes say DeShawn Richmond is sitting out this year after transferring from CS Bakersfield and does not say he is a walk on as it does for Westrop and the walk on freshmen Nwokeabia. That may mean he has the last scholarship.

I think we have a better chance of beating Oregon St. than Valpo today. Want to see us compete really well and stay poised.

I wanted to get back over here and stir things up but fall is my busiest time of year and I just didn't make it happen.
Briefly- should be a great game which is very important to both teams. For the love of the game I am hoping to see 6 or 8 OTs of hard fought action before Valpo emerges on top.
For the longer run the best mid-major teams and conferences need to find ways to ways to work together on scheduling instead of gaming each other in a feeble attempt to game the whole system. With that thought I hope VU can find its way back to Iona in the near future.
We are shorthanded so our on paper advantages may not exist. Who will guard English? Not certain. Lets play some basketball and see what happens!

Figured starting lineup would be AJ, Casimir, IW, Roundtree, Washington, with Amayo, Bessick, Much getting significant minutes off the bench, and Ibn and Proctor contributing as needed depending on the situation.
