Sometimes it just doesn't pay to complain. After Fordham won their home opener, new coach Jeff Neubauer (Sp?) complained about the fan support, as only 2132 fans showed up to see the Rams beat a D2 team. So yesterday against a D1 team, okay it was FDU, 2108 showed.

Sneak preview opportunity today: Akron @ Villanova, a 16 point dog in NIT opener @ 4:30 on FS1. Another tough OOC opponent, picked to win their conference, although we get them at a neutral site in Vegas.

Akron looks terrible...Villanova beating them by 25 with about 5 min. to go...They look very slow.....Our style of run-run is bad news for them...Nova leads in fast breaks 15-3....

They are very slow, they are not terrible. Our speed will be trouble for them, their length will be trouble for us. Villanova is an elite 8 level team. Don't get fooled.

In the words of the old CBS sportscaster (I forget his name), "If you had SJU and 36 points, you lost."

Texas Southern now 0-4 after losing at Howard 87-81.
Tulsa now 4-1 after losing to South Carolina 83-75.
Even though we don't play them this year, I have to mention that Wake Forest defeated #13 Indiana 82-78 at the Maui Invitational.

Just read something on the Seton Hall message board that I don't believe I ever knew. They were posting about SJU getting smoked by Vandy and someone mentioned that back in '05, SH lost by 53 to Duke (93-40). And in the same year they lost to UCONN by 47. And they made the NCAA tournament.
