Not much time to comment but the biggest problem I see offensively is we aren't sharing the ball and many of the new players are not good passers. Since there is little inside presence AJ, Sed and IW can't get open. Sed and IW don't look themselves, they have to both go back to being more aggressive but also the team has to help them get open with picks and good passing.
Defensively we are the usual mess.
Yes we will do better if we hit 3's but there is a lot more going on here than just missing 3's. We are far from a lock to beat Delaware right now. Best thing we have going is the long layoff after Delaware so the team can try to fix their problems in practice.
I'll try to post more player comments later but not a lot of positives, I'll briefly mention although Much can hit a 3 and is athletic his lack of passing ability is a big detriment to the way Cluess needs the offense to flow.

Way too early to jump to conclusions on individual players and the team. Almost every team will struggle at some point, especially on the road. Iona is unfortunately really struggling in the half court and unable to establish a rhythm to build confidence. As a result this has led to the poor shooting percentages, hesitation and telegraphed passes. Film review will clearly show the coaches and players what was not happening and what needs immediate attention. Hopefully after this film review and several high energy practices the team as a whole can hit the floor on Friday against Delaware with a renewed focus and energy on both ends of the floor. In both games the team as a whole looked like they took a punch they did not anticipate and never recovered their footing. In my opinion this team needs to establish an attack-attack mentality on both ends of the floor from start to finish. I would like to see Rountree, Washington and Bessick be utilized at the high post in the half court to distribute the ball on the perimeter and pull the opposition's bigs away from the basket to open lanes to the rim. I am hoping that playing in the friendly confines of the Hynes we see a different team than the first two games. Gotta believe!

Awful start. No reason we should be totally uncompetitive against two solid but not great teams. Having said that, we will plow through the maac and get our act together come January. Just disappointing to see another OOC slate squandered away. Will be shocked if we don't win convincingly on Friday. I don't see this team plowing through the MAAC 05. Road games at Monmouth, Manhattan, Canisius, and Siena will be difficult games, based on our performance in the first two games. Even the road game at Rider will be a challenge. Just saying

I think the team will right itself to a certain extent primarily against the maac. And I think there is a chance for three wins in the tourney, but zero chance of any ncaa success on a neutral court against a state university

Just saying This team has too much talent to not steamroll the MAAC. Once they get their chemistry intact we should be rolling by conf play in January. Now that doesn't excuse the lackluster OOC play, but would be surprised if we didn't roll off 16-17 conf wins.
