I think if the coaches use the suggestions made by Husker, CTBill and 86, we will be a top 25 team. Now if only the coaches will listen. :-) ...more like a final four team.

Guy and 86, you both make a good point about TB, and that is to wait on him. January seems reasonable. However, even now I like his athleticism and his shooting ability. I agree he's no where near as physical as JW, but few are. I'm glad we have him and am looking forward to watching him improve, as he's being changed (from his James Madison days) to a low post player. I don't know that he's NOT talented. I just haven't seen anything yet from TB. Small sample size, but my initial takes of everyone else at Valpo seem accurate. They'll need whatever skills he does possess this season for much-needed depth

I'm glad we have him and am looking forward to watching him improve, as he's being changed (from his James Madison days) to a low post player. I think he needs to work on his hands down low. In the first three games he has had passes bang off his hands like they are made of cement. With that said, down low passes are whizzed at you from three feet away which is different from being on the perimeter and getting a pass from 15 feet away. He needs to develop softer hands and he might need to adjust by receiving the ball closer to his body as he currently seems to try and catch with just his fingertips away from the body. Some people are born with soft hands... some need to develop them.... some never seem to develop them. They are essential for a good post player. He has very good hops and gets up quickly... lets use that to our advantage while the rest of his game develops and he gets further accustomed to the system. Our guards need to work on getting the ball down low as well and need to develop a groove with our bigs. Optimus Prime had Machado feeding him, if we can feed our bigs consistently I think it will change the dynamics of the team. Agree that Taylor needs to improve his handle - posted so in the Chat room to myself and two other people, Java and GOW(??). We had an intimate group last night. I wonder if it is as simple as him needing to relax. His athleticism is obvious, his quickness is obvious, his positioning is there for the most part. I'm hoping it is just the rust factor, and trusting his skills in TC's system. I posted in another thread that despite his size that I thought he played small. He did not play small last night, and he surely asserted himself inside. Could he be emerge as our Rhamel Brown? I think Rhode Island and Tulsa will give us looks similar to what we saw at Valpo and Oregon State another test for Jordan and Taylor. I am interested to see how Ryden fits into this inside group when he returns. I want to see more of the kid from Canada. From the little I have seen, that kid plays with attitude.

It seems simple to me...All we have to do is to rid our selves of the one of college basketball best coaches and hire fans...I sometimes wonder if even by some miracle we won the NCAA that negativity would not rear its ugly head. There was a marked improvement in our last game and now a 11 day gap between games at this time of the season will set us back with its in game experience... It is my hope that next years scheduling will rid NYC of all long time grudges and fears and restore civility and we start anew to make NYC once again the mecca of college basketball.....
