Happy Thanksgiving to all....As to myself, I will be forever grateful to have lived during the greatest age of mankind...From the birth of the auto till space travel, and from death sentence illness to most of them being cure able...No other age can be so compared...... It has been six days since our last game, and another 5 until our next...Eleven days total...A quick review has revealed that we have played probably the least (3)amount of games then any other Div.1 team in the country...Some in Tournaments have played that amount in three straight games...I in my long history as a basketball fan recall no other amount of time between season games.... Knowing that it would be impossible to get a team with 50% new members ready if it was not schedule by design...We shall soon find out, but in the meantime I miss Iona basketball and am tired of watching St.John get beat.... Oh for the days when the great Earnie Banks said ''LETS PLAY TWO''

For those who grew up in Westchester, besides the turkey, Thanksgiving was also watching New Rochelle High School vs Iona Prep football on WPIX channel 11. I attended neither school, but can still recall the voice of Marty Glickman calling the game with a sidekick Aubrey (Lewis?). That tradition got side-tracked by each schools respective league play-off formats. Not sure the last time the two even played.
Hopefully, the Gael players that weren't able to make it home to their own families get to spend Thanksgiving with someone local.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to a great & knowledgeable group of fans. Much to be thankful for, particularly a program that has once again become relevant and creates the passion demonstrated on this board!

When as a child I remember being told that in the late 1920's New Rochelle High was considered a National Powerhouse and played once in Florida for Nation title... I remember well in the 1930's seeing crowds of 10,000 or more at a home game...and the thrills that when up my spine as hero's of my youth ran on to the field and the band played 'Here's to New Rochelle'' The glory years ended with start of WW2...Our city in 1942 separated into 3 High Schools a vocational, a academic, and New Rochelle High which handled both...The vehicle parade the night before a game was a thing to look forwarded to... Actuality moves forward, but memories remain......

Happy Thanksgiving all. CJB, good memory, it was Aubrey Lewis. A shame the tradition ended. Marty Glickman was great.

As an Iona Prep alum I attended many of those games at old Memorial Field in Pelham. Lots of fun and good times.
