Laury also with a couple awful FG attempts, including an airball 3.

In the short term AJ would make more money overseas. But if his goal in the NBA, then I would think that the D League would be the most beneficial.

Unfortunately! At this point the nba looks highly doubtful but at the same time you can't just wipe out all he showed in college, Portsmouth and pre draft combines. Yes he looked bad, if he played like that Cluess would have benched him at Iona, I just don't think that was the true Aj, for whatever reason he didn't mesh with the team, coaches, ect.. Maybe if he had taken a different opportunity it would have been a different story. If I were him I'd go make some money overseas and maybe in a couple of years he can improve and crack the nba. Side note Armand said on Twitter his goal was to play one more year in turkey and then shoot for the nba.

I think one thing to consider is that Portsmouth was just seniors. The NBA combine was a higher level, but the NBA summer league is a different animal. While at times the games were very ragged, the talent level was higher than Portsmouth and the combine. Included drafted players, top over seas players and older ex and current players. Looked tome like the games were played at a faster pace and much more aggressive. AJ didn't seem like he was comfortable and ready at the speed of the games. While DL, didn't play great he looked much more comfortable, which I would assume comes from his experience in the D-league.
While the PG Sykes(?) must have been difficult to play with because he was looking for his shot first, he did what NBA teams wanted to see from AJ, which was be able to break down the defense off the dribble, be able to drive to the basket and create his own shot. I am sure the NBA teams already know that AJ has NBA range.
Learning experience. There are worse careers to have, than going over seas and making nice money. Wish AJ all the best. We all know one thing, and that's that AJ will keep on working hard

Sykes looking for his shot first? More accurately, would be first, second and third.

Agree Aj is not a point guard. He is a small off guard with a long wing span who has good range and a good passer. He needs to absolutely excel at shooting 3's to make it. That being said I don't care how good the talent is in the summer league there still is no reason for him not to hit the open 3's he took, most of them weren't even close. Shows he was playing tight.

Just saw an interesting article about the salary structure for the D-League. This year there will be two salary tiers. $19,500 and $26,000. The goal is to grow the league to 30 teams, when it is expected to triple the current salaries. Like someone posted earlier, if you were one of a team's last cuts, most will play in the D-League hoping for a call up to the NBA. Last year D-League call ups to the NBA made a combined 5 million dollars
