It is probably to late this season, but IMO our schedule has become stagnate and routine and is in need of a shot of adrenalin...Every year we start off by by a playing 9 game OOC teams with 2 MAAC games somewhere in between...5 of these OOC games are usually away against uncommon distant foes...The remaining 4 are at home against mediocre semi area foes...
Most teams try to start play at least 2 games against a comparative or lesser foes to find and correct problems...We at most times start right off in a hornets nest of distant games...Lets enter a more fan friendly and learning schedule, we deserve it......
First....Reduce the MAAC schedule to 15 games a season which can be managed by every team meeting the other 2 times every 3rd season.....Or add another team and divide into 2 six team Divisions...
Then lets start the season at home or a area foe away such as Army, Wagner, St. Francis...A great majority especially of the better teams use this type scheduling...
Outside of are lesser facility we have become a team that need not bow to every opponents demand...and lets use those 5 extra games allowed by a 15 game conference schedule to make a concentrated effort to amend ancient local vendettas, and utilize some of N.Y.CITY's larger arena's to showcase that we have become arguably the best team in the Metro vicinity...
And somewhere meet teams which have become total strangers such as St.Joes, LaSalle, St.Bonny, Hofstra, and yes Fordham and St.John's.......Lets pep it up before it is to late for me anyway...
