Ctbill......Your last post explaining why you no longer use the word ''Black'' and now use instead ''Brown'' has indicated to me that you are borderline paranoid, and has aroused other suspicions...
Greg........Your last post stating that I am ''Scaring the shit out people''...Why?...Is it possible that you have buried deep inside the same concerns, but don't want to think or hear about them...as that is the thought process in today's world on any issue that might cause worry...!!!!
I am sorry fellows...I try hard not to continue this subject, but my natural nature makes it impossible to ignore the 'Why worry' nonsense, and I am compelled to response....!!!!!
The only thing I will say is that despite the infinite flaws that inflict our world, one cannot live in fear. If something or someone kills me tomorrow, at least I know I'll have made my mark on this planet, and people will remember me. What the world has in store for my kids as they grow and become adults and have kids of their own, I cannot say, but again, I also cannot fear it.
This is not to say that one can or should live every day as if its his last, because it simply cannot even be assumed, even when a physician gives you only a few months to live. I could get hit by a bus later today, or I can live to be 120. I will try to enjoy now as reality allows in the event of the former, but will also plan accordingly in the event of the latter.
With regard to prejudice, we all have them, and they come in varying forms well beyond the color of one's skin. And many of those prejudices are not addressed by the over-PCing of our world. We have to be careful what we call someone of African-American descent, yet it's OK to call the 300-pound fellow next to you on the bus fat. We can't give the guy with a pack of Marboros a sales job because of the perception of smokers nowadays. And if we have two women of equal ability in our company, rest assured, the one that's getting promoted is the more attractive one--or the younger one--unless she's a new wife, because then she's a pregnancy risk. Or, maybe we just dismiss the ramblings of a 90-ish poster on a message board simply because he's 90-ish and can't possibly have his wits about him.
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.

Well said. For me I don't dismiss the ramblings of a 90-ish poster. At least by his postings he seems to have his wits intact. I also do not post everything that comes to my mind as I really don't like being hurtful and I am sensitive to people's feelings. And if that makes me weak or delusional, too bad.
Also, I said nothing about scaring the shit out of people. The only people OT would scare the shit out of would be those that take him seriously.

Both well said. I stated "depressing the shit out of people" not scaring!!!!!

Let me get this straight, you're predicting all manner of doom and gloom on the horizon and I'm paranoid? You've been able to diagnose me from my post, Dr. Freud? What are we supposed to do with your proclamation of doom? Hide in the basement? Leave the country? Are you warning us to save us? Or is it sufficient for you that when the fabric of civilization is being torn apart we say to our selves, "Gee OT was right and we had our heads buried in the sand because we're a bunch of sheltered, spoiled brats who didn't fight in WWII or serve in the police department?" I honestly don't get the whole point of this thread.

FEAR.......It is part of human emotion which has as much power as Love...It is the ''feeling of danger''...It is inborn in all of us...The problem arises in how we deal with it...Some meet it head on, others run from it...Circumstances at times will compel even the most fearful of humans to overcome it and jump into its jaws, and even the bravest will at times hide from it...
The most harmful response is to ignore it in hopes it will go away...The closest I can describe this type response is childhood hide and seek when one will cover his eyes with a pillow and thinks that protects him from sight...It is this response I abhor...

I was out making some house calls the other day, and I met this wonderful, energetic, optimistic lady. She loved the world, and wanted to get plugged into more of it. She told me she was working with her daughter on new installations in her home, including high speed, as in 100mps, broadband service. She wanted to see EWTN in all its high def glory as well as other channels. I had the lady pegged at mid 60's when she dropped on me that she is 90 years old. What a joy!!
"The problem arises in how we deal with it (fear)...Some meet it head on, others run from it. . ." And some get overwhelmed by it!

Ok so what should we do to meet this vague threat head on? Which is a scenario of financial and political doom that may not even come to pass. Please enlighten us. What do you recommend we do to stave off the apocalypse you predict? And please tell me who is trying to destroy the American way of life.

Well, your answer to the last question is obvious. You!
If you 'Hide in the closet' ultra liberals don't know that there are millions of people trying to destroy the America way of life then there is no reason for me to continue this subject...To even ask such a question exposes either your ignorance or the strength of the brain washing you have been subject to.
There were such people in 1929 which proceeded the great depression, and there were such people in 1939 and 1941...and did they suffer, Oh! did they ever suffer.....
Those that don't learn from Histories lessons are sure to repeat them... (Paraphrased)...

Yeesh, talk about brain washing. Sounds like you've swallowed it hook, line, and sinker.
