Blakney would be a very good recruit. Trying to get some info on what happened to all of those offers. He reminds me of George Beamon and current Maryland player Darryl Morsell.
RJ Davis of Stepinac, on Monday, committed to UNC. And today, I've seen that CBS Sports has rated UNC's Cole Anthony (who is also a PG) as the #1 freshman in college BB. Now RJ might be expecting Cole to enter the draft after his first or second year. But what if he doesn't?
86...do we have any prayer at Jaden Springer? Thought we might have a hail mary chance given the connection to his father.
No... he is a 5-star recruit ranked 16th in his class and the top player in NC. When it is all over he will be ranked in the Top 5 by most services. He is averaging 24.7 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 2.5 blocks, 2.4 steals and 2.4 apg. I think he is an NC State lean at this point but if NC or Duke offer him, that might change things.
The scary thing about him is the fact he has not finished growing and is expected to grow at least another 2 to 3 inches (possibly 6 inches). He has already scored 1,826 points in high school and is on pace to reach 3,000 for his career. Many expect to him to be a McDonald's All American just like his dad.
The only way I see us landing him is if he goes BCS and decides to transfer.
Jaden Springer, son of Gary Springer, commits to Tennessee.
Femi Odukale - 6'5" SG out of Brooklyn and South Shore, now doing a prep year at Springfield Commonwealth Academy and Brooklyn Rens. Rated a 3 star recruit by Rivals. He is an athletic, tough player who has a complete game and a junkyard dog mentality. Holds offers from UMass, St. Bonaventure, Niagara, Manhattan, LIU, Evansville and Stony Brook.
Scouting Reports:
"Odukale is a long, rangy athlete. He possess great anticipation on the defensive end of the floor. An elite level ball handler, passer and decision maker. Holds offers from a number of schools including, UMASS Amherst and St. Bonnaventure. Oakdale named the Outstanding Player of Day One." - 2019 PJN Classic Top Performers - Recruit the Bronx,
"Oukdale put in another strong performance before heading off to prep school. He is skilled and has a lot of toughness on the court. Is the type of player that is known for attacking the glass when it comes to getting rebounds. Can score in multiple ways, including shooting, but mainly driving to the basket, which he is very capable of doing. Showcases plenty of athleticism when there is an open lane." - City Is Mine Tournament Top Performers - Recruit the Bronx
"The first time I saw Femi Odukale, he was powering his way to the rim and battling alongside his brother-in-arms, Kadary Richmond, while leading Team New England to the 17U Championship at the The Hoop Group’s 2018 Providence Jam Fest. Most of his teammates from last summer have already witnessed a dramatic rise in their recruitment. Some are now holding over a dozen solid D1 offers and others have already arrived on the campus that they’ll call home for the next four years. Meanwhile, despite his ever-improving skillset and unselfish blue-collar mentality, Odukale is still fighting to earn that type of respect -and those type of scholarship offers- every time he takes the floor. NEW ENGLAND'S BEST NEW PROSPECTS IN '19-'20: FEMI ODUKALE - THE HUSTLE, 08/30/19
"Odukale is a wing who has a scorer’s mentality and plenty of length. He is great at absorbing contact and drawing fouls. Is great at rebounding and backing down players of smaller stature." - 2018 Battle in the Apple (NYC Teams) Top Players - David Cordov, recruit the Bronx
