Definitely are. Grasso told me a couple years back that sites like that only capture a small fraction of recruiting activity. For the Ionas out there that always seem to recruit in secret, that fraction becomes miniscule.

He wouldn't name players but told me that Iona was involved with several of their players a few years back but there was no mention of it. One of the players he stated was a big man who ended up signing with a big 5 school but had Iona in his top 5. I'm not going to out him or say what school, but I will say that Iona is involved with a player on his team now although not reported.

iona81, I know this is an essential year for recruiting, especially being able to replace Agee and Thiam. However, one thing I learned from Jared Grasso is that when you're out recruiting, your product is your HC. That is what you are selling. And since most of us are kept in the dark about TC, it's tough to feel good about what we're doing recruiting wise. And I certainly agree with you about VC (they still show the story about the Iona player who was kicked off the team for hitting a coach), they are the only site that I can get any type of recruiting info, that I know of. Now when I turn on SNY, Wednesday night and I see TC or hear the announcers give some kind of update on his condition, I'll feel a whole lot better.
P.S. I've been a believer in Iona BB since the days of Jim Mc Dermott.

ic59 might be on to something concerning Darreus Brown. I was asking on twitter if he's playing for Clarendon college, and was 1st told he was and then was told by another person who follows Clarendon college that he believes he's no longer on the team. Link for stats show he hasn't played in a game since 11/15. I guess at this point have to hope he's injured for the reason he hasn't played. Still listed on their roster, but JUCO sites are not very reliable. He was having a solid season, averaging 11.1ppg shooting 26-56 and a ridiculous 16-25 from three. Hopefully he's back playing soon as he would be a very solid recruit for Iona njcaaregion5.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/players/darreusbrown2eihnjcaaregion5.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/players/darreusbrown2eih

Josh Thomson comes out with his Super Seven, Boy's HS BB, and Troy Humpstead (Mt. Vernon) will probably be on it. Hope we're involved with him, though there has very little news about MVBB.

Humpstead was on the first team, but no schools were listed. VG stats, but he's only 6'5. A third Stepinac player also made the seven player first team, Malcolm Chimeze. He's a 6'8 junior and has a number of MAAC offers, but not Iona. He also has A10 offers.
I might be grasping at straws, but changing John Mateyko's title from DOBO to Assistant Coach might have been made so that he can get involved with off campus recruiting. Hope that's the case.

Speaking of Mount Vernon, Marco Morency is a 3-Star, 6'3" sophomore at Daytona State College (JUCO), averaging 15.3 points, 6 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

The first JUCO rankings just came out and he was #44. Couple of other names that were linked to Iona over the summer: Joe Kasperzyk..#87 Malik Zachery..#88 Darreus Brown made honorable mention, which would make him a top 150 recruit. Not completely sure what his status is at Clarendon college, but he wasn't in the boxscore for their game last night.

I don't know if any of the currant coaches know him.

Left basketball for 2 years, and now back as a sophmore which makes him like 23.

VC has Evitov back to Western Carolina. That must be a mistake. He committed to Colgate 4 days ago.
