Worcester Basketball @wa_VBB 3h3 hours ago 2020's Quest Harris & Judson Martindale have both received offers from Iona!
Quest Harris - PG - 5'10" out of Boston. As a freshman at Lowell High School, he averaged 14 points, 5 assists and 2 steals a game. A tough defender who can get to the hoop or hit the pull-up jumper. Great motor.
Scouting report:
"Though Harris’ defense is what always stands out about his game, he really did a nice job of finishing inside all weekend long for a loaded BABC offense." -NEER from the ZG NE Hoops Festival in 2015.
" Quest Harris was a defensive pest tonight, showing the ability to lock down the other team's point guard for 94 feet. -NEER from Hoop Mountain Fall Classic 2015
"Didn't see a better point guard @nerrhoops #E75 than Quest Harris (5-11) " - Jamall Griffin - Associate Head Coach Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC)
"In a deep 2020 class of guards, Quest Harris & Demarr Langford have stood out with their consistent approach & productivity." Sept 16. 2017 - Adam Finkelstein
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
Judson Martindale - 6'5" SG/SF. Athletic player that can shoot and get to the hoop. Likes to throw it down. A tough defender with a good motor.
Scouting report:
"While he missed the beginning of his first season at Worcester with injury, Martindale is another youngster who is already well known on the circuit. A good sized wing and solid athlete who is good in transition and an evolving shooter, he’s versatile and already impactful at a high level of competition." - NEER - 25 Names to Know in New England’s 2020 Class
"Is just one of several highly talented youngsters at Worcester Academy. While he’s just a freshman for the Hilltoppers, he already has a reputation coming into the NEPSAC. He might have been best known as a shooter early on but he’s evolved quite a bit athletically is now able to rise up high above the rim. Combine that with his prowess in full-court pressure defenses and ability to rebound from the wing and his impact is a versatile one." - NERR - Frosh/Soph – 2020 Wings

Demarr Langford - 6'4" SG/SF out of Putnam Science Academy and Mass Rivals AAU. He is the younger brother of Top 50 player in the class of 2017 and Providence Friar Makai Ashton-Langford. Athletic with good all-around skills. He has a nice shot out past three range. Good defender and has a high hoops IQ.
"When it comes to upside, there weren’t too many guys with more than Langford. The 6-foot-4 rising sophomore is ahead of where his older brother was at a similar stage as he is long and athletic with a great body. As his ball skills and playmaking instincts continue to emerge, he’s bound to be a future riser." - NERR - Hazelton Basketball Camp - 8/10/17

86...do we have any prayer at Jaden Springer? Thought we might have a hail mary chance given the connection to his father.

86...do we have any prayer at Jaden Springer? Thought we might have a hail mary chance given the connection to his father. No... he is a 5-star recruit ranked 16th in his class and the top player in NC. When it is all over he will be ranked in the Top 5 by most services. He is averaging 24.7 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 2.5 blocks, 2.4 steals and 2.4 apg. I think he is an NC State lean at this point but if NC or Duke offer him, that might change things. The scary thing about him is the fact he has not finished growing and is expected to grow at least another 2 to 3 inches (possibly 6 inches). He has already scored 1,826 points in high school and is on pace to reach 3,000 for his career. Many expect to him to be a McDonald's All American just like his dad. The only way I see us landing him is if he goes BCS and decides to transfer.

Marty Silvera - 6'1" PG out Doherty High School who will reclassify to 2020 and play at Putnam Science Academy next season. I love this kids game. A smooth playmaker who has great court vision, can score in buckets and makes the players around him better, A very high hoops IQ and a very good shooter off the dribble. He is always smooth and under control. This kid is going to be something else in a year or two... he just keeps getting better. He has that sixth sense that great players have... he sees where the play is going to go. He averaged 24.7, 8.5 assists and 2.6 steals. We are his first Div 1 offer.

Justin Vander Baan - 7' Center out of Northbridge, MA and Whitinsville Christian School. A developing big who can pass and alter shots and has good hands and footwork. Very mobile for his size and runs the court well. Could be a steal if he continues to work hard. Offers from Nevada, East Carolina and Stetson.
Scouting Reports:
"Standing at all of 6'10, Vander Baan was the biggest surprise on Sunday. He is much improved, and not afraid to assert himself on the offensive end. He has soft hands and uses both hands well. His back to the basket moves show a lot of promise, but he can also facilitate an offense in the high " - #E75 Academic Experience NY - Underclassmen Standouts New England Recruiting Report | Thursday, October 5th, 2017
"The 6'10 big man built off his impressive Elite 75 Academic Experience NY earlier this fall & played very well over the weekend. His skill is improving, but he makes a concentrated effort to box out his opponent (who is usually the biggest player on the other team)." - ZG Mass Madness - Event Recap New England Recruiting Report | Monday, October 23rd, 2017
