Parden me for a second...... The Mets should be called The Mess.... Their injury list is a joke...Every thing from a blister to a Ham string or a mosquito bite...It is now gone to far...It needs further examination with a jaundice eye to possible use of unjustified excuses....... I well remember the days when the ''Gas House Gang'' St.Louis Cards hit the field looking like the just retured from a war zone...Pitchers freqently went deep into extra innings, and were available 2-3 days later...Now,6 innings even with shutout ball is enough and need a 4 day rest... Every slide is sure to bring injury with a week or two recovery..... The Mets have stolen a grand total of 3 basis in th 17 games so far...They more often then not fail to go first to third on a outfield hit...A few of their star players refuse to slide, and others swing only for the fences even though a basehit or a walk would win the game...A manufactured run is a thing of the past..On and on goes the charade while the manager fails to become more stringent... They are IMO probably the best team in their Division, but they sure however are the most needed of a old fashion spanking along with the rest of 'The Most Spoiled' generation... And now back to the endless basketball speculation....

Greg...I hope outside of your above post that you have given some credence to my opening post..... The METS are a team in complete disaray...They have lost 6 in a row and 10 out of their last 11 games...They have made 12 errors this past week...Every starting pitcher has claimed injury but one, and even he has shown signs of the contageous decease...Their multi million star claims he has reinjured his ham string, but according to reliable reports it will and not stop his visits to the golf course.... In my long memory I don't recall a worst home record especially at the start of the season...The manager is not without blame as he seems to accept every excuse without question...Without doubt he has lost control of his team..... Fans are leaving in droves as the empty seats will testify... In my long memory I have seen team look bad, but never one with such a lack of will and the obvious 'What the hell attitude'... At this moment I am listening to Collins going over his injury list...It is just to much for me to accept as justified... But I come from a different generation...

It's April. Calm down. [/quote] Gregcrow... GREG.....I have seldom been in contact with a man that lives in a more 'Worry free'. world...You better never leave the sheltered life the Conn offers... You appeared to view the realistic world through rose colored glasses...Your failure to see or admit the Mets are in a 'Suicide tailspin' is a testiment to your naivity... That type attitude is alien to my world. You are probably a pretty nice guy, but you would be the last person I would want along side me in a desision making emergency...

Greg....Sorry that attached post was intended for Ctbill the original retorter...I have a room here that costs more, but I love...It's a door near the Nurses offices...I leave my door open, and in my kidding way 'Bust' a lot of chops to the heavy traffic that passes by which frequently interrupts my chain of thought.. To those nearing old age...Don't give in to a idol mind...It will lead you to places that you do not want to go...

That's an interesting response. If you knew me, you would know I am far from "worry free". It's actually something I need to work on. I couldn't disagree with you more. My point is simple. It's April, way to soon to go into panic mode. A steady leader knows there is time to right the ship. No doubt, the Met's are a mess right now. You have two choices. Panic and jump ship or continue working towards a better way. In the end, the Met's season could end up a disaster anyway, but I assure you if they start panicking and making stupid moves now, it will definitely end up a disaster. Honestly, with your attitude, you would be the last one I would want alongside me in a decision making emergency.
Check back with me in August.
BTW, I am a Yankee fan. Still like the Met's though.

The only thing keeping me in check with the Mets miserable start is the Rangers playoff run. As long as the Rangers keep playing, the Mets remain in the background. Once the Rangers are eliminated, then all bets are off :-)

Greg...It is my hope that you saw my post apoligizing...Visitors caused me to due to lost time to address post to you which was intended to Ctcon...Although we have had disagreements, I have always found your posts rational and reasonable... As per attitude, it is a neccessary factor when faced with emergencies...Without it you become a bystander....

Harvey's suspension is the begining of a Mets crackdown...Collins has been put on notice...Enough is enough....There clearly is two diffrent type teams...One is the group that gives its best, the other is type that is along for the ride...It appears that the older players play hard even with injuries, while most of the younger players have inherited the spoiled attitude that thrives in todays world...
Yes...There is still time, but a good old fashioned spanking is deservedly needed....

Just got through watching the 'Mess' lose another by blowing another big lead...This time it was 6 runs...I my long history of watching and attending I have never witnessed such a total team breakdown...It is now reached the laughable if not the suspectful stage...
To those that said ''Calm down, its early'' a month ago still have that pie in the sky feeling?...

If I could find a more descriptive word as ''Mess' I would use it...It has been and will continue to be one of the most horrible road trips in the History of Major League Baseball especially the fact it has beem perpetrated by one of the season favorites...
When they return home and the owners sit in their box seats and view the thousands of empty high priced areas, they will not look for ''Causes'', but will be driven to ''Changes''
The mass exodise will be unmercible with top to bottom changes......
Deservedly and disgracfuly so....
But its early yet..........

So it continues...Nothing can showcase more of the pathetic Mets then the film showing Mgr.Collins going over in the dugout and hugging to give solace to his 4 inning teared eyed pitcher that had just been bashed for 8 runs.
What he deserved was.....
1...A good tongue lashing telling him and others to stop acting like a child...Order him to have his hair cut to look like a man instead of a snowflake...Start exercising to get in better shape then tireing and pooping out after 3-4 innings innings.....And stop being a cry-baby....
And finally...A good kick in the ass instead of a dugout soothing hug would go a long way in having them grow up....
I have in over 85 years of watching MLB have never seen a team with so much potential talent allowed to go to hell so fast....
