Not appropriate to scoreboard watch yet, but if SPU beats Monmouth tonight and we win tomorrow there's a good chance we're in a tie for second place in the loss column along with Monmouth, Siena and Canisius.

It was lunacy for him to post that, I agree. Like I said, we're a couple games out of first but also a couple games out of last. Forget scoreboard watching, just win games.

Geez, if that's lunacy it's a good thing I didn't post how I really feel. We are going to run the table, sweep 3 in Albany, win the NCAA PIG and then make a run to the Sweet 16.

Iona opens -5. My gut says Iona wins but I can't see giving 5 points.

A quick thought about some of the previous games, and especially the Siena game. It would think Cluess knows that by pressing more often that he could speed up the game and get some more possessions for Iona while also creating possible turnovers. In the Siena game I was surprised he didn't go to this a lot sooner and more often. My only thought is he is trying to save some tricks for later in the season and the MAAC tourney.
As for tonight, I would love to see some more pressing and I think Hudson can get some valuable minutes here. I understand that the team is shorthanded as far as depth, but something needs to give if they don't want to end up in a MAAC PIG.

broguy, according to TC's post game presser, three of our seven (who played) guys were sick. So I don't think we had enough manpower to press throughout the game.

broguy, according to TC's post game presser, three of our seven (who played) guys were sick. So I don't think we had enough manpower to press throughout the game. Cluess benching Gist for the entire 2nd half had more to do with not pressing. Gist could have been the difference, on the defensive end, in the outcome of the game. Siena struggles against pressure defense. I found it odd that Iona allowed Jalen Pickett to pretty much back down his defender for the majority of the game, controlling the tempo of the game. Qpac's 3 starting guards average a combined 8 turnovers per game. Will be interesting to see if Cluess turns to full court pressure at times. I will be looking out early to the three point shooting. Qpac has 4 starters shooting between 36%-44%, and even higher the last few games, from beyond the arc. If Iona comes out cold again from three, hopefully they try to attempt to feed Agee down low and the guards drive to the hoop. Going on the stats and the last few games for both teams, getting in a three point shooting contest tonight might not end well, though the Gaels are due for a good shooting game at home.

Hoping we are at full strength tonight. Having the three players back that were under the weather last game and Still would be welcome news...
