Siena last night: 1- 65% from th3 field 2- 57% from 3 3- 83% from the line A duplicate performance would be tough to compete with, this was by far their best shooting game of the year, but I don’t see it.We are rested and they finished very late last night, their crowd will be an obstacle but this is why we play tough OOC games early to be ready for this.EJ and Ricky have been here already and will be raring to go,expecting out top 3 to have big nights again, someone else needs to get us some points and we’ll be just fine!! Giving TC almost 2 days since we played is a huge advantage,he will do his usual coach of the year job and welcome the rookie Jamion into the league,GO GAELS!!!! +1000. Your post got me fired up!

Pickett played incredibly well as expected. That kid is something special. We need Rickey to take him out of the game early and we will be ok. Nobody said it was going to be easy, but would rather have to face Siena than Rider. The funny thing if you observe Pickett’s game is he is not really quick but “herky-jerky” with his moves and fakes. The Gaels cannot let Fisher & Seymour setup on the three point line...need better perimeter defense tonight.

Pickett is a modern day Sugar Ray Richardson of the MAAC. He also seems like a terrific kid. Hopefully we give him a freshman learning lesson today.

Huge coaching advantage vs. totally obnoxious fan base--love it and love our side in this "debate."
Think we'll see defense by committee on Pickett--don't want an overzealous Ricky taken out of game because of the inevitable crowd-enhanced foul calls. Really need Agee to play under control. Their "bigs", except occasionally Fisher, are really not inside threats, None of them can handle Tajuan. Risto and Maxwell will be needed to help on perimeter. (Read somewhere that 6'9" Seymour has 26 rebounds in 31 games. Last night's stat line for 26 minutes: 6-8 from 3 for 18 points and 0s across the board in every category. Amazing!)

Stating the obvious, but if Iona defends the three, they should win the game. Crazy stat from tonight. Siena scored 87 points on only 43 shots, while Rider scored 81 points on 67 shots. Don't get into a three point shooting contest tomorrow. Siena should not be able to defend Agee and Crawford down low. With Degnan and Seymour as legitimate outside threats, I feel both Risto and Maxwell need to have stellar games. Valuable minutes. Siena will turn the ball over and it's important to convert on any fast break opportunities. If we need Risto and Maxwell to have "stellar" games, than we are in a boatload of trouble.

Said it yesterday more comfortable with facing Siena than rider . E.J. Ricky, & Tajuan will outplay Siena. I look for Perez to be the X factor if he can give us 10 or more points we advance. Risto could be helpful with valuable minutes possible he goes 3-3 from downtown but if our big 3 guns are hot today I feel good about this game. GO IC GAELS!!!!

Agreed. Super nailed it.
- Keep Tajuan out of foul trouble early - Neutralize Pickett with defense by committee - Exploit mismatches with EJ and Agee - Get something offensively — anything!! — from secondary players
Survive and advance!

Both of our games this season against Siena were played in the fifties. We need the seventies or else it will be a nail biter. I watched last night's Siena-Rider game, and Siena was definitely the better team. On defense I like how they took Allen (VG 3pt shooter) out of the game, by assigning either Camper or Smithen (I assume) to guard him, and stay with him, even when the ball goes inside. We usually/often drop off our man in order to double down low, and the ball is kicked out for an open three. All three of Siena's big guys can shoot the three, with Seymour having deep range. Refs are important since it's our Super Six against their Super Six. Two refs I'll be comfortable with are Tyburski and Carthensen (the tall bald guy). Hope they don't let Pickett continuously clear out with his off hand.

No spread yet. I'm thinking: Iona -2 O/U 152 Good call on the number, Iona favored by 2. O/U is 142. Honestly I thought your number was high.

One name not specially mentioned is Hudson. Thought he did a good job denying Pickett in the minutes he played last time out.
