I don't think "starting 5" matters as much as overall minutes played. Of course, it's all gonna vary from game to game, and even from possession to possession depending on need. Obviously Cluess will have a certain 5 out there if Iona's down 3 with 20 seconds to go than he might have out here if Iona's up 2 with 20 ticks left. Estimating minutes below. Now, this won't add up because I'm giving ranges, but here's how I'd guess it will go--and I say this not even having attended our scrimmage. 35-40 Crawford 30-35 Gist 25-30 Agee (generally limited by occasional foul trouble) 25-30 Jelly 20-25 Perez 15-20 Thiam 15-20 Van Eyck 10-15 Risto 10-15 McNeil 10-15 Cashaw 10-15 Ross 5-10 Nikolic Again, apologies if that doesn't add up very well, but it looks OK. Also--this is how I see it through, say, mid-January to perhaps even February. By year's end there will be a couple more guys around 25-30 and probably 3-4 guys playing 0-10. I think toward the end of the season both McNeil and Thiam will be logging major minutes.

I think we're underestimating Perez and his all around game.

So I follow a lot of college basketball instagram accounts (30K or more), and about 3 of them that I have seen have posted about Asante Gist as being one of the top 10 or 20 breakout players this year.
A lot of praise for him and I have seen lots of posts pointing to IONA as being an underrated team this year as a mid-major. One of the pages in particular Elitecollege.basketball under breakout players post continuously talks about Iona is a team to watch.
Nice recognition for our players and program this year.

Gist impressed many in the tourney loss to NC, including Roy Williams. He consistently improved over the course of the season, and so did Agee. Cluess is an excellent coach.

Where would this lineup be expected to finish in the MAAC?
McNeil Ross Perez Ristanovic Van Eyck
I would say 5th or 6th. Only asking because this is our bench!

More of a compliment to our team’s talent and depth than being disrespectful to our opponents. I would take the lineup above over at least a few MAAC starting rotations this season.

I would take the lineup above over at least a few MAAC starting rotations this season. Yes, but 3 of them have never played a minute for us and a 4th only played 15 min a game for us. You have zero idea what these guys would do if they averaged 25-30 min per game. To assume they are better than half the league's starters is a bit much.

True but you know what the starters for some of the lower tier MAAC programs have done and it’s not like they’re the Fab Five exactly.

I would love to see TC screw with some MAAC teams by just starting a big lineup. Something like the below:
Center - Ristanovic 6'11 Forward - Thiam 6'9 Forward - Agee 6'9 Forward - Van Eyck 6'9 Guard - Crawford 6'6
Only messing around as this will never happen, but in the past teams would purposely go big against our 4 guard lineup. Maybe screw with them and go big for the first 5 minutes of the game and play slow ball by dumping it down low and crashing the boards to beat up on their bigs for a bit.
I know this will never happen, but it would be interesting and fun to see.
