joebird, thought that I read that all schools from both conferences would play in the MAAC-A SUN challenge, but only two per year. For some reason the A SUN started with two of their weakest teams.

Iona at Colorado Sunday december 29th at 2pm on pac 12 network. I hope the team has a few days to get used to the elevation. Boulder is at 5400ft above sea level and it takes a bit to get used to. Catching a deep breath and avoiding headaches and nose bleeds can be a challenge. For those who decide to go: St. Julien Hotel on Walnut Pizzeria Locale on Pearl Both excellent options for lodging and food. Go to Boulder about once per year for work. Julien is a great hotel. Expensive though. Boulder is a great town with a lot of options re restaurants. In the foothills west of Denver. About 40 minute ride from the airport. Elevation slightly higher than Denver, which sits on the high plains just east of the mountains.

Kennesaw St and Stetson picked in the last 2 spots by the ASun coaches. Iona has to have 2 blowouts here. Hell, Monmouth should win both, too. The a sun challenge is actually a good idea, if the a sun sent it’s best teams, like to know why they would send their worst? Maybe those teams had trouble finding anyone who wanted to play them? these teams were announced before last season ended so no to the scheduling theory

It seems like all non-conference schedules have been released, It seems like this is the schedule we are stuck with. So Nov 13 @ 7pm our home non-conference begins, and barring OT, it will end 40 mins on the play clock later. To add more insult to this we will only be playing 27 games this year. I believe this is unheard of. There is no announcement from the school or the coaches. Was this schedule intentional? Was it a mistake? Did someone screw up? Did coach Cluess strategically try to assure an NCAA win with a P.I.G? I don't know what the logic is. I believe Guy and 1970 were talking about someone getting fired for this schedule. I would never advocate anyone losing their job, BUT at MOST Div 1 schools, 100% the person responsible for this schedule would be fired. UCONN, UCLA, Duke.... etc, Even the SWAC and MEAC schools that play for pay would not shortchange themselves. If you believe the Stony Brook AD, he called Iona and every other school within driving distance for games. The staff only scheduled 4 games this offseason! What is particularly galling is that the only apparent effort by the staff to schedule was to reach the Coaching bonus for Guarantee game$. The past 4 years we have had 7 home non-conference game, less than half of any other MAAC school. Fordham has played 33 in that same timespan.

Supposedly Fresno st and Utah st may still possibly add another game or two, though it appears unlikely Iona will be involved. Fordham may have had more home OOC games, but their schedule has been garbage. Hey, I hate what happened with this year's schedule but it is what it is.
At this point let's hope IW gets his waiver and the team stays healthy. Hope to see everyone healthy and playing in next week's scrimmage. IF this happens again next season, then yes I agree the staff and administration should get plenty of heat.

Hoping for Fresno State and one more home game against a decent low major program. This would actually be an awesome schedule if that happens.

According to a report on Twitter it appears Fresno State and Utah State are playing each other to finish their OOC schedule

They are more geographically friendly for each other.
Still a chance we'll add a game, I'm hearing.
