You can say that again. And again. And again.

I’m very excited about the possibility of Washington making Iona relevant. Despite our success we are basically unnoticed in the regular ny media, there’s a chance that Washington changes that. His presence and an Iona ncaa win could make Iona the darlings of nyc college basketball for 2020/2021. Truly dare to dream again.

Basically because I saw this happen twice tonight. Not at the end of the game, but at the end of quarters. So, if time is running down on the clock at the end of the game and Iona is down, say, 92-91. Washington drives down the lane and right at the last tick gets fouled. Two shots. No time left on the clock. He makes both shots. A true buzzer- beater?

As Joebird’s official buzzer beater spokesperson I am going to say no What you explained required a night of sleep to answer your question. I’m glad to say my spokesperson answered correctly, as you need to hear the buzzer sounding with the ball in the air (or bouncing off backboard or rim), and the offensive team must be behind for it to be an official buzzer beater. Thank you 05. Also a separate note All Elam Endings are not buzzer beaters and are a farce to the buzzer beat fan community!

But this was at the end of the quarter, so no Elam ending. Weird. Happened twice. I am also not sure what the rule is in college. Probably cannot technically have a foul at 0 seconds, so they would have to put at least 0.1 on the clock in the event of a foul. Which would make my point, well, pointless.
