I don't understand Siena being ranked so high. They have a new coach, who has no HC experience (in college anyway). They lost a couple of key pieces in Fisher and Degnan, but I'll admit I don't know anything about their newbies.

They have the best player in the league.
I'll go with:
1. Iona 2. Rider 3. Quinny 4. Siena 5. Monmouth 6. Manhattan 7. Fairfield 8. Canisius 9. St. Peter's 10. Marist 11. Niagara
Iona and Rider are far and away better than the rest.

1. Iona 2. Rider 3. QPAC 4. Monmouth 5. Siena 6. Manhattan
I took Iona #1 based on the fact they have 2 open scholarships plus whatever happens with Thiam's waiver. Both teams right now are fairly equal as far as regular season. Of course, come March Iona becomes the favorite because of Cluess.
Take Monmouth over Siena, despite Siena having the MAAC'S best player. Monmouth has lots of athletic and physical guards and just added a interesting recruit in SF Gob Gabriel. Last season Monmouth was 2-0 against Siena, with the main reason being they gave Pickett a very tough time. Pickett had 2 of his worst games vs Monmouth with a combined 11 turnovers. Siena has a new HC that was rushed into the position, plus adding 7 new players, some of which are a bit over hyped. I think Siena fans are going to learn that what Cluess has been able to do every year, winning despite a big roster turnover, is not very easy.

It’s very possible that Siena could finish lower... even much lower if their new coach stinks. However, they have a very solid sophomore Don Carey, who transferred from Mt. St. Mary’s. He and Pickett will likely be among the best couple backcourts in the MAAC. To be honest, I picked them that high based more off my distaste for other teams’ rosters. Iona and Qunnipiac look like the best teams to me. After that, it’s not a lot of quality, so the team with the league’s best guard/player makes sense at 3.

Niagara Would be shocked if Iona is picked as low as #3 in the preseason I don't think we will be the runaway favorite either. Last season we finished 1 game above Canisius, Quinny, Rider and Siena. We finished two games in front of Monmouth. Unless IW gets his waiver some people will question our ability to replace McGill. Both Rider and Quinny match up well against us. I think it will come down to our waivers, coaching ability, the desire of the players and health. If we get a waiver for IW and we land another quality big that can play right away or get the second waiver, I would probably rank us number 1. The only reason Quinny was ranked 2nd was the fact their coach hasn't proven shit yet. But has a very good team on paper. Impact players: Rider LoseDurham Returns:Jordan Scott Marshall Vaughan Adds:Justin Steers - (If he applies for a waiver) a MEAC All-Rookie pick last season. Willy Nunez, Jr. - FIU grad transfer was injured most of last year, logging only 6 games but averaged 12.7 points. In Juco he averaged 20.8 ppg his sophomore season. Quinny Lose:Young Bundu Returns:Kelly Marfo Atson Rigoni Williams Adds:Lewis Balanc 3-star 7' freshman Seth Pinkney.

Niagara Would be shocked if Iona is picked as low as #3 in the preseason 05 05..........RIDER OUINNY AND OTHER SELECTIONS SHOW UP EACH YEAR.....But IONAs winning record and reloading calls for them to be without question odds on favorites...I know its a desire with certain board posters to be a winning picker, but they would have lost a bundle of money the past 9 years.....This year in particular IONA should be at least a even money favorite with a chance to be odds on... I know I will be trying to continue my winning streak....SO IONA once again with the rest of the pack struggling for the runner up!!!!!OT

86, I think that Rider, who was the PS choice (MAAC coaches) to win it last year, will be our top competition. You show them only losing Dunham. I thought their big guy, Quinn, graduated and one of their VG 3pt shooters, Allen, either transferred or went pro. It was a while ago, so I'm not sure of the details. Maybe someone remembers.

Just came to me, that Quinn was a Monmouth guy. But Allen was a Rider guy.
