Why not? They've hired everyone else! Mixed emotions. Hate to lose Matt, but it would mean a nice pay hike for him - - a great guy.

Does Matt have a relationship with Lyons? I'm thinking they might stay away form him. Either way, we'll be fine. We survived the coaching scare.

There is only one long term solution to this poaching problem with Seton Hall; Iona has to stop producing successful executives. You don’t see schools like Siena with this problem do you?

In its announcement, SHU said it will commenced a "national search" for a new AD. By national I assume they mean Westchester.

I'd be very surprised if they select Matt. I just don't think that their new president will go down that road.

Not a bad move - for Iona.

I would love to see Jay Judge get the job. But again, in a conference like the BE, I would think that SHU will hire someone who has some AD experience. I'll have my fingers crossed for Jay.

Matt Glovaski is not getting the credit he deserves. In under a year he did the following:
- Lock Tim up long term - Build new arena and address facilities issues
He’s done this all with very limited resources and a thin staff.
Why is he not getting the credit? ADs job is all about results, and based on his results so far, he has been able to accomplish things that no other AD has.

Just haven’t heard much praise for the job he’s done.

Not aware of Glovaski negotiating any contract extension with TC in past year. You want to give credit for St. John's screwing up their coaching search? Facilities upgrade was announced several years ago, This version is scaled back, rightly so, from previous plans. By the way, what new arena did Iona build? I want to see how our new Cross Country Coach handles our legacy, also our women's soccer coach, and our Volleyball Coach. The only thing I give him credit for so far is sticking me and my guests in the rafters at KU a few years back - far away from the Iona contingent, with no heads up. I live in Missouri - The Show Me State!

He’s went about his job quietly and professionally and he’s gotten the job done. What results? He has filled three coaching jobs. Jury is still out on all three. Glad to hear that he is professional. Evidently, he has won you over. AS for doing his job quietly, your comment reminds me of advice I once got when new to a senior management position. "Remember Socrates!" "He spoke his mind, and they poisoned him." Another adage with regards to upper management! He is doing well on his first year if he can figure out where the bathroom is. Mr. Glovaski has a long way to go to show results.
