Who launched this thread? Who started this shitshow?
In the interest of fairness and giving credit where credit is due, Mr. Glovaski did allow the camel's nose under the Iona basketball tent. The Basketball roster was announced in June. I think that is significant.

On a serious note about the roster. As someone who is not much in the loop with recruiting. Is their a relation to the fact that we seem to have a relatively settled roster earlier than usual and the number of offerings for future classes. Seems like more than usual. Or is it just my imagination?

The real question is how are we accomplishing all of this without Coach Grasso? Some board members almost had me convinced our recruiting would tail-off when he departed for Bryant...

Geez. All I said was the Glovaski wasn’t getting the credit he deserves. I’m sorry your panties are in a bunch because he stuck you in the nose bleeds at Allen Fieldhouse.

OK, so you want to continue the shitshow. As in an earlier bout with another poster, you keep moving your goalposts. You throw out a conclusion, then see if you can move the facts around enough to support the conclusion. What you said is:
"Matt Glovaski is not getting the credit he deserves. In under a year he did the following:
- Lock Tim up long term - Build new arena and address facilities issues . . ."
He did neither! The long-term contract was put in place during Glovaski's predecessor term. Again, what facility did he build? The new dorm on North Avenue?? The Business School??
Yes, I am pissed I was put in the rafters while the rest of the Iona contingent was together in another part of the Arena. And, I paid for my four tickets - more than face value. Your bromance has you so f**king blinded that you failed to recognize the credit given for what he did in fact accomplish.
For the record, the shitshow was started by our Don (you can look it up), and that is not you.

SLG...are you saying that you’re not satisfied with the job our AD has done? My original point was merely that we give credit to a lot of people for our recent success, yet MG seems to go under the radar despite having a hell of a track record so far.
Fair or unfair, people in administrative leadership positions like MG will get credit or blame for the results that happen on their watch. It doesn’t matter if they were directly or indirectly responsible for the results.
We bitch about excessive turnover of the athletic staff, yet the one guy who has been loyal to the program and stayed with us for more than a decade gets criticized because some of these outcomes started before he took over as AD or because he put you in the rafters at the most historic arena in college basketball.
Frankly, MG was a part of the Cluess and facilities discussions before he took over as AD, and his promotion ensured continuity and stability that were necessary to get them over the finish line (certainly as it applies to the facility).
Life as an AD can be cruel, and it really all comes down to what facilities you were able to get over the line, not what women’s hand ball coach you were able to hire. MG deserves tons of credit on this front IMO. There is only one other AD who has gotten a facilities upgrade of significance over the line in the past 20 years besides him.

Me and gregcrow were in the corner with you
Yeah, I remember you being there. My only memory of Greg is in the Hotel bar after the game.

No, I am not expressing dissatisfaction about his AD job performance. What I have said and am still saying is that it is too early to say, he is too new in the job. For example, he has hired some coaches, so let's see how those hires perform. I did say that I was pissed at the way I and my guests were treated at KU. Actually, this thread has helped me get it out of my system. You all have convinced me to have an open mind on his performance going forward. I will, and I have tried to give him some credit in an earlier post for opening communication on Basketball goings on.
Look, it's obvious you all like the guy. My only interaction with him - the restaurant at the Hotel picking up the KU game tickets - was short and abrupt. Women's soccer opens in a few weeks, as does Volleyball; and Cross Country will be going for 29 Championships in a row - all coached by people he hired.
Quinnipiac is hosting a Multi Team Exempt tournament on their campus that will include Albany, Presbyterian and Sacred Heart. Expensive, but it gets you 3 home games. Monmouth is @ Kansas St Nov 13 and @ Kansas Nov 15. Many say non- conference scheduling is hard, It is, but NOT impossible.

It depends what your needs are to sustain the program
