Back in yore, when I was young, MSV lost an early-season game to Elizabeth Seton, a JUCO which Iona eventually bought and then Marymounted. MSV later beat Hofstra, which then beat Iona. Iona then won an up game (maybe South Carolina). The up team beat someone else who then beat eventual national champ Louisville. Making Elizabeth Seton a title contender. 😄 I don't know what Marymounting is, but it sounds either wonderful or horrifying. Fordham bought Marymount in Tarrytown many years ago and moved its Law School there. Fordham soon after closed Marymount due to Marymount's debt. I believe that's what Iona did to Elizabeth Seton, minus the Law School part.

I thought it has been there for decades.

Great to hear of this exhibition.
Better for the fans than the coaching staff.
Expect they'll still do a D1 scrimmage. Don't believe they can still do two.

Long time ago but I do believe it was the Law School. Fordham definitely shut down Marymount, though. Decent women's college which probably deserved a better fate. My older sister, who wound up at Villanova, was pushed toward Marymount by her high school guidance counselor.

I like it. We've been griping for years, we want to see the team in an exhibition game instead of all the closed scrimmages that we don't get to see. This is brilliant. And I also like that it happens to fall on a bye week for my son's football team, so I can actually attend! Sounds good, I don't see a downside to this game.
