Greg, based on the official writeup/recap that makes no mention of TC MIA. Could be he was on a secret recruiting mission.

Rumor circulating last night was that he's preparing to take over at Seton Hall with Willard suspended.

Actually, I think he so despises the idea of exhibition games that he was sitting it out in protest.

Defensive stats were ugly, but hard to draw any meaningful conclusions from an exhibition game against a D3 team. The guys see much tougher competition every day in practice.
Jelly is the real deal, and in both the maroon and gold scrimmage and last night’s game, was very impressed with how calmly he plays. He is the perfect type of player to run this offense with all of the scoring weapons we have around him.

So we can't draw conclusions about the D because it's D3 but we can conclude Jelly is a stud even though it's D3. Interesting!

Some, not all, of us saw Jelly play in the M-G scrimmage. And in that game and last night, I came away very impressed. As to our defense, I thought we were pretty good in the M-G scrimmage, but not last night. But no matter how our defense was, it would have been pointed out that we were playing a D3 team. It's a no win situation, but it's something to be concerned about.

Had we hit the defensive numbers I had suggested, I agree we would have had to take that with a grain of salt given the D3 foe, but the fact that we didn't is not a good sign. That said, we played mostly man last night. As I posted last night, I hope and expect we will play more zone against LaSalle.

There is more of a body of work to draw a conclusion about Jelly — maroon and gold scrimmage, scouting reports, previous history, etc.I think it’s a pretty safe conclusion to draw. I’m not saying the defense isn’t something to keep an eye on, but I’m not too worried based on last night.
