Ristanovic and Van Eck were 0-7 off the bench Perez 1-7 and 0-3 from the charity stripe. Iona was 8-40 behind the arc REf's were terrible, to both sides. Called some ridiculous fouls early, then later in the game allowed scrums and wrestling matches and didnt whistle. Iona didnt score in OT Not impressed with Jelly Don’t care how many points he had, Jelly was aggressive under the boards with 11 rebounds and hit a huge onions three pointer to send the game to OT. He also was very under control on offense, and you could feel the flow of the offense die as soon as he fouled out. He’s going to absolutely tear up the MAAC. Hope so, didn't today.

Team had 17 turnovers, Jelly had 1. The team had 64 points, Jelly had 3. I’m not saying the guy was a world beater today. Heck the whole team sucked. But I thought he was better than EJ and Gist despite what the stat lines might say.

Tough to compare to EJ, but you are correct he was better than Gist. Gist has a history with us, though. Whole team, minus Agee, sucked. We need Cluess back for sure.

I thought EJ really hurt us in some big spots where we had a chance to get over the hump. I’m not too worried though. EJ is usually money in the clutch for us. Probably just an anomaly today.

This loss will prove to be the difference between a 15 or a 16 seed if we win the Maac tournament. Pissed.. very winnable game where we took ourselves out vey early with shoddy passing. Hope we settle the PG position soon.

Tough way to lose after coming all the way back.
They had the momentum heading into that ot but let it get away throwing up brick after brick - those missed free throws by Perez were particularly bitter - he just doesn't shoot that bad.
Would have like to have seen Jelly drive to the hoop more. He seemed so effective getting to the basket virtually at will in the two games I saw him play.
With the exception of Agee, they played like garbage. The talent is there, all is fixable.
No need to head for the ledge.
Get well TC.

Are you sure you’re an Iona fan?

La Salle looked like a decent team. The sky's not falling. It's an overtime loss on the road to start the season with a really bad shooting game and missing the head coach. Again, the sky's not falling.

Again, the sky's not falling. I was underwhelmed by LaSalle. Was expecting more from them, but they seem pretty young and inexperienced and with no noticeable strength. Hope I’m wrong, but not expecting them to finish above .500 based on what I saw today. Agree, it’s a long season and nobody should be anywhere near the ledge.

Those 3 missed free throws from Perez in o/t were hard to handle Thought there could have been a charge called on LaSalle after we tied it but the refs decided to let them play it out at that point Tough game to lose after that great comeback Jelly will get better.... he did have 12 rebounds Perez was gassed.

I feel the team will be ok come league play. Iona is awful out of conference on the road and showed it again today. Agee, Crawford and Gist were great. The rest stunk with the exception of Ross who played hard. I’m not sure Perez could be any worse if he was trying to be bad. Not sure what his supporters see in him. Hopefully he turns it around. Washington had more fouls than point and never got near the rim. Hopefully Cluess is back for the home opener. He was gassed. Out there too long.

This team has plenty of scoring options — EJ, Gist, Agee, etc. Most important role Jelly can play is to be a safe and smart conductor of the offense, reduce turnovers, find the open man, and play tough defense.
