The prognosis on this season simply comes down to if Cluess returns and if so how soon. I believe we need him back before MLK day for him to have enough time to get them to play like a March Cluess team. The potential is there but I doubt they can get another ncaa bid again unless Cluess has enough time. January 20th! Begin to ready the team for March? You are an optimist...

With all the complaints about scheduling this year, the schedule maybe a blessing. First and foremost hopefully allowing Coach Cluess to resume his duties. Secondly, the team to adjust to practicing and playing under Coach Arnold. Thirdly, allowing currently injured players to get healthy. Agee's ankle worries me and hopefully the time off will allow him to rehab properly. Ironic that I typically worry about the health of the players as it is the single biggest variable on how a season will play out, never thinking about the health of the head coach. Saying my prayers Coach Cluess is on the road to better health. As we age we start to appreciate how important our health is over things. Best wishes and positive thoughts to the Iona Basketball Family.

Agee hurts something every 10 minutes and then heals for 2 years, a little bit of a drama queen, but a very good player. Less games helps fluidity? No rhythm playing this many games, u realize 3 games in 40 games would be half the games of a football team sched if we still had one

Was reading an article on St. louis U BB this morning and a quote from Coach Travis Ford struck me as it relate to the return of Coach C.
“It’s challenging,” Ford said on 12/8/2019 - the quarter pole of the season. “In some ways I do enjoy trying to figure things out, but it’s totally different. The whole makeup of the team and the way we’re playing is different than any team I’ve had here. We’re still trying to figure it out. You see that in the minutes played. Some guys get a lot one game and not a lot the next.”
WHEN Coach returns he will face a mid season sorting out process. We all know the Cluess sorting process that consumes the OOC portion of the schedule. This year it is being delayed. I hope that Coach C and Coach A are on the same page, that the transfer of information is seamless. Having said that, Coach has his own timetable and his own unique relationship with his players which, as we have seen from comments by EJ, Rickey and others, can take time to solidify. Interesting season!

I love Iona College basketball and I most certainly want the "DriveForFive" to be a success. But, more important, my prayer (and I am certain the prayer of all here) is that Tim make a full recovery from whatever he's going through.
Go Gaels!!!

IMO season is a throwaway if Tim does not return or returns very late.

Yup, the only win that matters right now is Tim Cluess's. All else means nothing.
