I like the pickup but yet to be determined. Good size and athletic, but coming off an injury. Also, hasn't played a lot in almost 3 years and will be rusty like IW.
I've decided to refrain from overhyping any players anymore as this past season we all did that with the talent we thought was brought in. As a result, most of us were very wrong.

Perhaps a Kensmil type situation where all he needed was an opportunity. Kensmil thriving at Steven F Austin. I like the commitment from Brown. He's a 6'9'' athletic post player well worth taking a shot on. Like I posted in another thread, I am convinced Iona is looking at a '20 recruiting class of 7-9 kids. That's a huge class, and being realistic almost impossible to "hit" on all of them. So far Robert Brown and Darreus Brown. Robert Brown will probably be on campus very soon and practicing with the team. Darreus Brown is no longer on his JUCO team, so not sure what his status is. To be honest, him leaving both JUCO programs he was at is a bit concerning. sharkey - Food for thought. Darreus Brown references this on his twitter. If you look at Aries like he highlights which I'm assuming is his birthday month, some of the characteristics which he states are dead on about himself are "attitude problems" and "nonchalant." I don't know if that is a player that I want on the team especially after leaving both Juco's he attended. I don't question his ability as he has put up some great numbers, but the other part of the equation seems to be a problem.

I think it is a good sign that we are out there recruiting. I hope this transfer will excel at Iona, but definitely encouraged that the staff doesn't have their heads buried in the sand without coach Cluess on campus.

Yeah, this kid is talented, but not finishing the season for 2 straight years at 2 different JUCOS is a red flag. Will be very surprised he winds up at Iona.

Brown has been in college for 3 years. He redshirt his freshman year. Played 8 games his RFR season before missing the end of the season due to shoulder surgery. This season, his 3rd, he played 6 games before transferring. Normally a kid has 5 years to play 4. Can a player apply for a medical redshirt after already sitting a redshirt season? There have been cases where players have been granted a 6th year. I am guessing he gets a waiver to play right away next season and he gets 2 full years at Iona. I mentioned Rashaun Agee and the possibility he is no longer enrolled at New Mexico State. The article below says he was never on scholarship, so he would most likely be eligible right away next season. Will be interesting to see if Iona gets involved with him. www.lcsun-news.com/story/sports/college/nmsu/2019/09/25/nmsu-mens-basketball-roster-breakdown/2431719001/You can get a waiver for a 6th season. Normally it is 5 to play four but there is now the +1 extension if you meet the criteria.

As most of you know we were heavily involved with Rashaun Agee per my sources. I thought he was down to us & New Mexico St. If we can lure him to NR would be a major get. I know we don't get excited about recruits until they have proven themselves on court with results @ Iona but this kid excites me heard he has more potential than his bro. Fact. And yes he's listed as a walk on at NMSU. Just wondering why he decided to walk on vs a ship. Hopes of earning a scholly with NMSU? I know he had multiple offers from Buffalo,UT-Martin,Northern Illinois,Cleveland St, Kent St,St.Bonnies,Western Michigan, UW-Milwaukee, & Washington St. Pretty lengthy list.

How much eligibility does he have left? 1.5 years? I believe 2.5 years He has 1.5 years here, small chance at waiver that would give him 2,that’s best we can hope for. Most likely 1.5. He is not only a big body but I’ve heard very athletic, gets up and down the court.

Can’t argue that logic at all.
