I just think getting through that 8 game stretch any better than 6-2 will be very tough. A loss at Hofstra, William Mary or Vermont may be considered bad losses, even though those are far from easy games.
Overall If Iona wants to give themselves a chance at an at large I think the Gaels can only afford 5 losses going into the Maac tourney. Gaels will also need two high quality wins other than Fairfield. Purdue, hopefully Temple, Marshall and the bracket buster may be the only chances.

We're gonna have a couple of "bad losses" it happens to most teams every year. At least those games are on the road. What we should have with this sched. is a couple of really good wins. What we absolutely need to avoid is a loss at home to Marist or Siena, or St. Peter's, etc. in MAAC play.

I actually think the schedule needs to be tougher to be considered for an at-large - they just aren't handed out very easy to mid-majors.
Probably should've solidified our chances by donating gym time to the volleyball team and opting to play every game on the road.

Not for nothing, but I'm not thinking about an at-large. Let Fairfield fans worry about that.

This year is the strangest schedule ever and another quirk was just added. The game at Richmond on Wednesday Dec 14th will be played at 3PM, it says to accomodate Iona's need to travel home for exams.
Add this to the list of strange start times which includes 9, probably 9:30(MSG), 10, 2 weekday TV games and a 7Pm Sunday night game.

Winning solves all problems! Hey, if this kind of scheduling gets us into the dance, can you imagine the "unusual" start times we will have next season?
