The audio/video left a lot to be desired. Gutsy win by the Gaels after being down 13 in the first half to win 104-99 in 2 OT.
I was hoping for joebird's buzzer beater at the end of OT.
Go Gaels!!!

Very strange to win two years in a row two home openers in double OT over A-10 teams. St. joes is good, but you have to win that game at home and thankfully we did.
It is simply amzing iona never hits a buzzer winner. If there was a stat on this iona would be 0-80 in the last 30 years. Just 0-2 tonight. I do have a feeling they will hit one this year but I said the same thing a few years ago.
Why does Iona never get the home calls other teams get, that was like a road game as far as the refs were concerned. That one ref called everything against iona, and the same idiot left the court after the first OT thinking game was over, thats how clueless he was. Very lucky Cluess didn't get a T in crunch time.
Iona's D was just awful early but it eventually tightened up. Machado's first half was brilliant and Glover gave us one of those monster games we saw several times early last year.
Big win over what I think it a good NIt team. Next year we will be on the road against them and they will be a top 25 team.

Good win, Great week. Maryland & Saint Joseph's. Two teams with solid Basketball traditions. Prudue would have been head lines, but it's old news. Let's move on..Iona.

St. Joes is the best team we have faced so far this year, better than last year's Richmond team. Great in game adjustments by Coach.
What can you say about Scott? His game is another level compared to last year.

just got back from the game which was one of the more exciting games I've attended in a long time. This team is frustrating at times leaving their man wide open for uncontested layups or easy threes plus it seems we gave St.Joes two or three attempts every possesssion. Haven't seen the stats but they must of got a ton of offensive rebounds. The one thing I'll say is that this group of Gaels don't quit. They willed themselves this win tonight. Great win now time to get ready for T-Day!

That game was a war.
Too bad someone had to lose, but glad it wasn't us.
Although some confusion of assignments prompted some animated conversations between players and coaches, this team showed heart and character and never quit.
St. Joes is a damn good team and this should stand up as a strong win.
Lastly, agree we must be the only team in the ncaa that gets home jobbed at home.

To dig a hole like that and still manage to come back against a team as good as St Joe's says a lot about the heart of this team. Monster games from Scott and Glover - needed every ounce out of them last night.
St Joe's has some outstanding players; I was very impressed with their guard play and that one big. They will win a lot of games this year. As someone else stated, with their youth, that is a top 25 team next year. Great to see us get a home and home with a school with such a strong basketball tradition.
Happy Thanksgiving and looking forward to Monday's game.

St. Louis Gael, St. Joes is good but not as good as Richmond last year. Iona won that game with a little luck, boosted by a wild crowd (much crazier than last night), and we played with a sense of desperation based on the 0-3 record, and finally Richmond didn't bring their A-game.

Jn has front cover story on Iona but it is a pregame story. I guess game ended too late. Cluess has a great quote about the schedule being terrible because no one would play us.
I saw Brennan of DN at game but no story in printed edition. It appears Dailly News is only putting his Iona stories online this year, which is disappointing.

Something I forgot to mention for those who attended the game last night... the game stat board in Hynes wasn't working. Hopefully, it was just a temporary problem because I really missed it.

He is not on the roster so looks like he is gone.
One comment on the schedule; at Denver, at Marshall and at Richmond is a brutal 3 game stretch, not 3 big name teams but that is as tough of a 3 game OOC stretch as you can have.
3 wins there and Iona's RPI would be in the top 20.

Saw Denver compete with and throttle the St. Mary's Gaels at home...that's gonna be a tough game...they're good...also there are guys doing hard time in prison for what Georgia Tech did to Siena last night which was also on cable.
