Can't play this many road games, and these aren't close road trips. Iona looked exhausted, absolutely no energy. This road trip will cost them another loss or two.

Can we give some credit to Marshall? They're an NCAA Tourney team. You can't win them all. Nobody does.

I hope that the loss brings us down to earth. The ONLY thing that matters is winning the MAAC tourney. #1 in scoring, assists leader, #2 mid major, #32 Pomeroy, Top 25....nada. Gottleib, Seth Davis, Bilas...nada. Nice if we win in Richmond but what's really important....WIN THE MAAC! Anything but is a major disappointment. There will be no at large bid for the MAAC.
This was a collective disappointment today. From the scheduling, to the coaching, the bench, etc.... Get through December them WIN THE MAAC!
GO GAELS!

I agree that the goal remains to win the MAAC Tournament. But just the fact that we can even DISCUSS the at-large stuff shows how much fun we're having.
The schedule was assembled for PRECISELY this reason. Everyone needs to chill out. The teams we're facing are ALL better than EVERYONE in the MAAC.

Hated getting spanked, always hurts to lose, but it was highly unlikely we were going to win all these road games anyway. Still work for this team to do. If they can pull off a win in Richmond we will all forget about this by Thursday. If not, the season will still go on and I believe great things will happen!

Its not about losing. It's about the way you lose. That was an ugly second half of basketball.

Didn't expect us to go 29-1 anyway. Marshall was the better, probably better 8 out of 10 times. Rather take a loss like this to a very good team and learn than beat a patsy (we can schedule a few of those next year).

I saw them against Syracuse and they are beatable, I think we are about equal in talent but are very different teams. We let them get too many open 3's and it resulted in them getting confidant and eventually hitting them. Iona played with tired legs and this resulted in the already difficult rebounding match up being much worse. I don't have a problem with the loss I am just disappointed in losing by 20. Love the Gaels to sweep rest of December but I think even if Gaels can get by Richmond, which I see as a toss up, I think this long road trip may result in a slip up in one of those last 3 games, most likely Vermont.

I just think they are a bad match-up for us. We were outrebounded 34-16 and only grabbed 4 offensive boards campared to Marshall's 16. Not sure how much that would change in a rematch - they are a very physical team. I do agree we could have done a better job covering their shooters...that is fixable. Looking forward to a bounce back performance against Richmond. I watched some of the VCU/Richmond game which VCU dominated. I think both Iona and Richmond will have something to prove on Wednesday.
