Didn't "know" Cluess at all before reading that. Now I love the guy.

Excellent read. TC and his family have sure had their share of sorrows. Glad he finds strength and solace carrying his brothers memories... hard not to wish for only good things to happen to him and his family. Maybe we can be the 35th. or 44th. team announced on Selection Sunday, wouldn't that be something!

Had some great chats with Hank in Puerto Rico. I saw him take a charge on Cazzie Russell toward the end of the game in the Holiday Festival in '64. Great tournament: Bill Bradley/Cazzie Russell matchup in the opener was one of the best I have ever seen. SJU, with Cluess and Sonny Dove, upset Mich St in the finals.

Tremendous story. Why not Iona? Go get em coach! Yes why not Iona? IMO, I look at Cluess as a different type of hire coming from DII; as Iona and Lyon's took a chance hiring him as this type scenario doesn't occur often. If he does reach a high level of success here; I hope some form of loyalty tugs at him making it difficult for him to leave. Having said that; if he does reach that level of success and bolts to SJU I could understand after reading that piece.

Coach Cluess is a very reflective person. We can be assured that his decisions are value based. WE can also be assured that his decisions will not be all about the money. What a wonderful family! By the way I was in the bogs of Offaly less than 60 days ago. Have any of you watched hurling? www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=t1BoUj0yZ8Y&feature=endscreen

Two good videos including an interview with Momo.
SLG, my dad and his friend used to take my brother and I and his sons Danny & Joe up to Gaelic Park to watch Hurling matches many, many years ago. My brother and I and the other tow boys ran amuk all afternoon while the old boys had a few beers and watched the bloodsport unfold. Every time we went ther I'd come home with a half busted bloodied hurling stick that a player gave me. Great memories!

Couldn't begrudge him going to SJ's, that's like home for him. Just leave the Iona program in good shape, if and when he goes is all I ask.
