According to USA Today: "Fired Seton Hall basketball coach Bobby Gonzalez has been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at a New Jersey mall."

I'm a little surprised. If he needed anything it was a suit and not a bag.

Here is a piece with much more info. than I have seen previously. I am not the only one on this board who would have to admit to hearing stories of multiple incidents attributed to Gonzo which have not been made public which would only serve to make this account more than believable. www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2010/07/former_seton_hall_coach_is_cha.html

I must admit, Gonzo has good taste in luggage: www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3858188&camp=affiliate_k108283My take on this sad situation. The thing that is strange is that I now almost feel sorry for Gonzo. He is a train wreck waiting to happen. He is a classic narcissist who is totally out of control. I'm sure many have heard stories of his actions at both Manhattan and Seton Hall which both those schools decided to cover-up or ignore rather than address the issue. This simply served to feed Gonzo's narcissistic tendencies. This incident is simply one more in an ongoing series of such behavior. He was in the store, saw what he wanted, realized that he was Gonzo who deserved to have anything that he wanted - so he took it! I am sure he will never serve any time, his attorney is portraying it as a misunderstanding that will be resolved. He will undoubtedly pay for the damage and all charges will be dropped. Classic narcissists eventually do more damage to themselves than to others when they cannot feed their ever growing appetite for self-gratification. If his attorney was looking out for the best interests of his client, he would enter into a plea deal that included court ordered counseling. He won't and we will all wait for the next shoe to drop. As much as I detest Gonzo, I also feel sorry for him. What a waste of so much talent!

I think Gonzo deserves our prayers. His problems are much more than "on the court".
