Here's the full list. Final stats are needed for these seasons:
1965-66 / 1961-62 / 1960-61 / 1959-60 / 1958-59 / 1957-58 / 1955-56 / 1954-55 / 1951-52 / 1950-51 / 1949-50 / 1947-48
It's a very big mystery why the Athletic Department and College Archives do not have media guides from the 1950s and 1960s which would contain the stats from the previous years. Iona is a well-known school with a considerable basketball tradition at this point, yet I have no problem finding info on much smaller less significant places. Very strange!

I've seen some old media guides/ programs on ebay. Thanks! That was actually a big help. That enabled me to remove a few from my list. It was a little pricey but worth it! NEW NEED LIST for IONA: 1965-66 / 1961-62 /1959-60 / 1955-56 / 1951-52 / 1950-51 / 1949-50 So for these missing years, I need the subsequent media guide. In other words, for 1965-66 statistics, I would need the 1966-67 media guide. We're down to 7 years and then I'll have stats from every Iona season 1948 to present!! Anybody have any ideas for these last 7?

jtay799, I was at Iona in the fifties and as far as I know we didn't have a media guide. I would suggest that you contact the SID, Brian Beyrer, and ask for his help. Yearbooks and old issues, if available, of the Ionian (College Paper) might help.

The previous poster was right; there are 1950s Iona guides on eBay but not the "right" ones for my list. The paper has some boxscores but not for every game. Same problem for the NY Times. Yearbooks do not have season stats, just the schedule/results. If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. I really appreciate it and I think when I have all of the info, it will be a nice treat for you guys to have career records of every player from 1948, too!

Does the NCAA or ECAC keep morgues? A former Iona guy, Owen Silvestri (sp?) is now with the ECAC on Cape Cod.

Ask Brian to put you in touch with the Ionian office.

The NCAA keeps an archive but those years are incomplete (sometimes only the top 2 players). I don't think that the ECAC still has records that old but sure, that's a good idea and I'll check. Thanks for the ideas!

Try this link: Over 26,108,000 Old New York State Historical Newspaper Pages A reading of the Historical pages will indicate clearly how much our country's current writings and its ability to convey a story has deteriorated. Much blame can be traced to the internet and texting, but the majority must be directed to our ever lowering teaching standards...

I believe we were a 6 seed in 1980. Only 48 teams that year--pretty sure. We beat Holy Cross, then played Georgetown which received a bye.
