chels why are you picking on my answer? java is the one who brought this thread up, and read my answer i said 8, not 9 or 10 if you are going to criticize my answer at least read it, i say enough stuff that gets slammed.also when i say 8 guys, the 3 bench guys can play 10ea so starters aren't worn out at the end of games.
ctbill, we weren't going to blow a 20pt lead and i said rest 1 guy at a time to make sure we don't blow it, also if you check laury was in until 2 minutes was left, that was ridiculous because we all know he is the guy that would need the most rest
I think right now we're in great shape. Casimir( I think that's how you spell his name) will make an impact as a freshman. I've been researching and reading a lot about him and he's played against a lot of top point guards who went to high majors and put on scoring displays with his quickness. Amayo, IW and English will be great as well. Also i think hines is gonna be a great addition this upcoming year. Hines will be a big time contributor next year because he now is more accustomed to the pace of the collegiate game and will help DL spread offenses with his jump shot. Robinson i am hoping comes back from his knee injury because for a 7 footer he was very agile and can help DL on the boards down low but i do believe he's 1 more year away from being a bigger contributor. What i think Iona needs is Bashir ahmed and Powell plus a big like Ahmed's brother. Ahmed and Powell bring length, athleticism and scoring ability as well and ahmed brother will bring physicality to the lineup down low. I don't know if daniel's is still committed and i'm not too familiar with Young who has signed with iona. My ideal lineup for next year if all goes the way i hope is English, Amayo,IW,Powell and DL with Ahmed's brother, Hines, Casimir and Bashir Ahmed off the bench. A 9 Main Rotation with other players playing sparingly. Now i don't know too much about young and this is just my thoughts.

You're all forgetting Najeal. He can take it to the basket or pop a three. Can also play a little rim defense. But it is not going to be easy to replace Sean and Tre with underclassmen.

1970, I am sorry. I did confuse your post with others. I agree with you that 8 would make sense and is realistic. My apologies.

Love your rotation but I believe Young will get some playing time. just going on reports and video he looks like he fits TC'S system. Casimir will have a impact over his career but TC has not shown in the past that he will play freshmen early in the season, so I see Sledge starting the season getting more PT and then its up to him to earn those minutes. With only 2 ships remaining we would not be able to recruit Ahmed and his brother along with Powell. would be great for the staff to have the tough decision to which 2 of those 3 to take if they all choose Iona. I just have the staff is going to surprise us with an athletic Juco big (maybe just dreaming sfter I saw the impact a player like Kyser had for La Tech). While writing this I just remembered Scott, who those that have seen him play say he will crash the boards and play defense. Shit this could be an incredibly deep team next year and TC can run and press teams into the ground.

Next Year's team will be an incredibly deep team, I hope though we do get either Ahmed or Powell (Leaning Toward Ahmed because of the Higher Major interest but at the same time a little skeptical because of the school skipping and Indecision) and a big like Ahmed brother that can help Laury down low who also can make an impact right away.

Too easy.
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.

Think we can expect major contributions from IW and improvements from DL & AJ to take some of the sting away from the losses of Sean & Tre. We have had a strong leader each of the last 4 years. I'm still not sure who will emerge in that role.
Couple of things: 1. Amayo is not an underclassman. And seeing him at the Women's game the other night, the first thing I noticed is that he looks big/strong. 2. That lineup, above, of AJ, Amayo, IW, Powell and DL, didn't include a PF. We NEED a rebounder to take some of the heavy lifting off of DL. Would be pretty powerful, offensively. 3. As for Hines and Robinson, both have to get a lot stronger in order to contribute. They do have skills, but I don't think that either is strong enough to help on the boards. 4. Cedric is a player that should be fun to watch, but I don't think any of us know if he'll be able to log meaningful minutes as a frosh PG. 5. HOPE that Young can rebound. Same for Shack Scott. 6. Usually, incoming players start school in the summer, and go through two summer sessions. Does that make them eligible to go on a Canadian trip, over the Labor Day weekend, if the team does go on one?
i think hines is ready, he played tough at kansas not backing down from that front line and i would assume as a soph he will be stronger than this yr after working with our strength coach for the summer
