Assuming Quinny beats Marist tomorrow we will have a two game lead over them, Manhattan and Canisius with 6 to play. Here's how the schedules break down for each of the four teams in the chase. I think Manhattan has the most favorable schedule followed by us, and then Quinny, with Canisius clearly having the toughest road ahead.
We should steamroll through our remaining home games and you gotta like our odds to win at Marist. The road game at Rider will be the decisive one. With 3/4 of these teams (including us) still with games at Rider, those will be the difference makers IMO. If Manhattan wins at Rider and we lose at Rider then expect our game at Draddy to decide the MAAC reg season champion. Otherwise we should be able to put this to bed and make the game at Draddy pretty stress free if we can hold serve at home and then knock Rider off in Jersey.

One thing the MAAC has taught us though - there will be surprises.

The way I look at the schedules 4-2 puts the Gaels at 16-4 and should be enough to win the MAAC regular season. That would mean the other 3 would have to win their remaining 6 games just to tie for first. Since they all have games against each other only one of them could possibly win their last 6 games. Would really be surprised if any of these teams will win out the rest of the season. Of course the Gaels have to take care of business which makes these next 2 home games must wins.

St Peters has played better. Not a gimme.

St. Peters is better and although I agree it's not likely, I wouldn't be shocked to see Manhattan win out.

If the Gaels finish tied at 16-4 with one of these teams how would the tie breaker work since they would have split with all of them assuming a loss at Manhattan?

Too early to say. Since Iona split with Canisius and Quinny and we are assuming a split with Manhattan for sake of argument, what we need to root for are no sweeps among the other teams near the top. So far there are none.

With an 11 team league this year, it would have lent itself to a 2 game bye for reg season champ of MAAC. Who has the details on how it works this year?

A little off topic but does Mid Major top 25 poll come out today? I would imagine Iona getting in with Canisus dropping out and Manhattan dropping down in the poll.
