No doubt in my mind, he is the best player in the league next year.he was our best player down the stretch this season. Time we recognize our boy, he will get us back to where we belong

This is his team now along with Laury. Be interesting to see how he handles being the top dog.

He was top dog down the stretch last year IMO as a soph. Crucial shot, he took it. He missed but had the balls to come get it. Now he's our boy.

Last year he realized he had the upperclassmen Armand and Tre there to take the big shot if he didn't. Next year he is the going to be the main go to guy. Personally I think he'll thrive in this scenario

We have 2 potential MAAC POY candidates for the next 2 years: AJ & IW.

Super makes the most important point, imo, and that is to take him off the point. However, having Amayo to play OG and IW at SF, tells me that AJ WILL play PG. So by playing PG, it will probably hinder his play this year, but it will help him in the long run, as PG would be his best shot as a professional. And if the NBA doesn't work out, he could easily slide over to OG and have a profitable overseas career.

I think AJ will play SG even if it comes at the expense of giving up some size. Still a lot to be decided with the recruiting window, but even if we don't land any bigs that are capable of starting, I still think AJ will play SG. Casimir/Sledge, AJ, Amayo, IW and DL3.

IMO Coach Cluess has not been happy when it comes time to give his No. Point Guard some time relief...The team becomes a different machine...As I have posted prior, I cannot find stats to prove it, but if they were kept, they would prove what was obvious and show a diminished team effort...It led to a situation where A.J. was to assume a different role which somewhat contained his offensive nature...
I was surprised when Cluess recruited Casmir, as it led again to the problem of height, but after checking stats, viewing film clips, etc. I am convinced that Cluess sees in Casmir, the type rare bird that will and have thrived in the MAAC..I've already picked a nickname for Casmir....CASH........

Agreed. Need to put things in perspective. Have we had a more promising player than AJ after their sophomore year over the past decade or so?

I agree with everything on this thread about AJ, and he will be an all time Gael by the time he is done. But I have to say without starting another thread that IW is not that far behind. The way he stuffs a stat sheet he is going to have some pretty big numbers after the next two years. Going to be lots of fun watching AJ and IW kill in the MAAC for the next two years. Great to be a Gaels fan!!
