Yeah, really. For a team with "no size", we've done pretty well for ourselves.[/quote] Can't argue with that, but there is no denying that lack of height has kept us from victory in important and tournament games...Many of which we were clearly the better team except for height...A check of Tournament close scores will re-affirm. I am firmly convinced it has kept Iona from claiming a much higher position among the Nations elite mid-majors...I am in no way disappointed with the Gails recent performance, but am a bit tired with ''Close but no cigar'' heart breaking defeats.....

I do agree with the lack of size argument but if Dublin is strong and can push some bodies down low then I won't have a problem with it. You have to remember we had Poole last year who couldn't fill that role because he was out of position. That also attributed to a lot of our rebounding problems, Dublin is wider and stronger. I think Hines and Robinson are one more year away from filling that void. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Robinson, I like his size and hope his knee recovers. Hines I see more as a power forward who can stretch the floor with his shooting ability but don't really see him as being a strong down low presence. I believe that this year we will be fine in regards wth size, English at 6'4, amayo 6'5,Williams 6'7, dublin 6'6 and dl at 6'9. It's not huge but adds a different dimension. Not to mention we might be below average in size on the defensive side but now think of the offensive side of the ball problems. Amayo, Dublin and Laury are strong players down low. Wide bodies and physical players. I'm more worried about defensive schemes this year and how we can clean up our 2-3 zone.

Yeah, really. For a team with "no size", we've done pretty well for ourselves. In the MAAC, but have faltered vs BCS schools in the paint. NEEDED BIGS to get over the hump. We didn't lose to BYU because we were small. And you could have given us 3 7-footers and Ohio St still would have assraped us.

Cluess will go with the speed AND scoring of CASMIER, the scoring of ENGLISH, the power of AMAYO, the hustle and grit of WILLIAMS and the size with LAURY. I remain confident in my assertions.
