America has awaken... May it now shake off the malaise of liberalism and all its guilt leanings...Our country can now pick up its destructive remains and strive forward to be become once again the 'Greatest Country' on earth...It will take time until its values will be restored, but the roadblock of unrealistic promise and its deceitful ways has been removed.......... God bless America.... Yup! We can now return to the glorious times left by our last president! SUPER A typical ''Sour Grapes'' retort...But as expected...... Obama will give the Nation a address this afternoon...It will be a futile attempt to inspire what is left of his loyal easily led misguided followers...I am sure you will be clapping wildly..... So tough to keep quiet through all this. I respect the hell out of you OT, but Super and St Louis have had the balls to stand up and be heard. You give zero credit to the current administration after being left with a pile of crap. Just curious if you are a Ted Cruz backer or more moderate Republican. I know if the Gaels do not live up to expectations, you will somehow blame Obama.
So comical hahaha please explain what he has done? This administration has taken leaps and bounds backwards and it's evident by the respect and reputation that other countries show us.

I am a Republican who at times votes the conservative line.....But...Over the years, I frequently crossed over and voted Democrat... My favorite all time President is Democratic Harry Truman...Freely admit it is for selfish reasons...........He was advised that the invasion of Japan would cost us between 500,000 and 1,000,000 casualties...He knew the American people would have big trouble with that type of loss...As we had just developed the Atomic Bomb, he made the difficult decision to drop it on two mainland Japanese cities causing the immediate loss of a estimated 100,000 lives... At that time my Division was on Okinawa...We were preparing to load ship and head for Japans mainland a few hundred miles away when Japan surrendered... But for President Truman, we had survived to return home to the love ones I had not seen for most of my 17 to 20 years.....He was a little man with common sense and a heart of a lion that made the biggest decision of any American President...and for the American people and not for ideological or Political reasons...

I can only judge based upon a track record which points to a reversal of policy and downward shift. Please elaborate so I can have more of an understanding where you're coming from. I agree sometimes that Oldtimer is a bit harsh with his comments but he does have some valid points.

What you fail to mention is that the writer of the article is employed by Nekkei a Japanese news association which has Japanese interest as its main goal....I've learned years ago there are 'Two sides' to every story...

Are you inpugning the Japanese ability to make a fairly accurate assessment of why The Obama Administration has not accomplished even more than it has?

Before I post, I must say that I just returned from an incredible visit to Arizona to see my son (a senior at ASU). We were at the ASU-Notre Dame game and what a game it was! Here we go: I would classify myself as a Democrat, but voted for many Republican candidates including Bush Jr. I probably would have voted for McCain if Palin was not his running mate. Obama inherited a mess. He has helped turn the economy in the right direction. He is not respected internationally, which is a problem. My objection with OT's comments is that he pins all the country's problems on this President. The Republican party which is very split has made it clear that they HATE the current President and disrespect him at every turn. This is the most dysfunctional Congress that I have seen in my lifetime and I don't see how you put that all at Obama's feet. He is not the strongest President, but he has brought back from the lows that the Bush administration left. I know that I have not covered many important issues, but I am ready to end this and go on to Gaels basketball.
Everyone knows the QE supplementation is a major factor of influence in the stock market with these bloated numbers. Anyways though the stock market has trended to historic highs so i semi-agree with you about that. Unemployment is down but if you look at the numbers part time workers have increased over the last 6 years from 9% of the work force to close to 20%. Wages are down, part time workers are up and generation Y's unemployment rate is 13% but more people are employed so that is a valid point. I don't really consider those figures to be a great indication of how our unemployment is trending. GDP growth has increased as well but after doing some research on forbes and several other websites it seems that the growth is based upon our overstocked inventory and less on consumer spending. I don't know if that is really growth?? No if and's or buts that he cut the deficit, he dropped the deficit from 9.2% to 3.6%. I don't understand how you say he got osama bin laden, see i might be wrong on this but his policies didn't do the job it was our military. Just like if bush found him, i wouldn't credit bush i would credit our military. Healthcare is a great idea and i love the idea of what it presents to the nation but i don't believe it's an accomplishment. According to Democrat senator Baucus "obamacare is going to be a $500 billion higher cost than anticipated". You also have democratic senator Charles Schumer who was an architect of obamacare calling it a "train wreck waiting to happen". Not to mention the amount of money it cost taxpayers to fund the program. Last but not least you said that the auto industry added 340,000 jobs since june 2009 but from what i read from the bureau of labor statistics in 2009 1.1 million were employed by the auto industry and today it's 700,900. Don't really see that as an improvement of 340,000 jobs. Overall several points i agree with you on but i'm not in full agreement.

I do believe the republican party has a problem with him but he doesn't help himself. When he executive orders policies and threatens to use the executive order on many more than i think that causes a rift. I agree that this is by far the worst congress in a very long time and they can't agree on anything. Like you i believe he has helped this country in several facets but he has also hurt it as well. I agree with you about ending this thread and focusing on basketball. I hope you had a great time at the game, I was rooting for Notre dame but after the first half i had to turn the game off.

After the most embarrassing repugnance election probably in American history the deceit and defense of the Obama's regime gives complete credence to the mind set that is in complete denial...
And yes I am repugning the Japanese or any government ability to make a ''fair assessment'' Only those that are oblivious to history would make such a naïve statement especially on this day of remembrance.....
I hope that Friday will bring back some semblance of sanity even to those that reside in ''Ga Ga land'''........

Goodbye St. Louie........With a scrimmage game this Saturday and the seasons lst game next Friday, my mind will be concentrated on Iona Basketball...I am sure you know I have figured out your what intent was in asking the Smiley Face question, and your failure to answer my inquiry confirms my suspicions...
Now that the Nation has soundly rejected its destructive Liberal ways and is on the RIGHT road, I can now bow out of this controversy with great satisfaction and much hope........and I am also sure many boarders will give a loud ''Its about time''...............
Hey OT--I always thought you were a man of your word. "It's about time......"
Now you can sit back and enjoy watching Ted Cruz and company destroy the country we all fought for just like the last crowd did at the early part of this century. Happy Veteran's Day!
