83 and Tootie, when Penders was the coach, they played Fordham once or twice EVERY year. Those were excellent Fordham teams and a lot of the games came down to the final seconds. So when you say "when Fordham gets [good] SJU will duck them", you are not on good footing. In fact, as we speak, Fordham is getting their act together. They have won four out of six in a top conference, and have everyone back next year (plus Canty), while SJU has no one back. The game will go on. Fordham will be favored and they will probably beat us. So your definitely wrong on that point at least. But they won't cancel it because it is their rivalry game. The only point I make is that you can't have too many rivalry games because the smaller program gets the emotional advantage, but their is no way the RPI can take that into consideration. So it's a dumb move. Their job is to get their team into the NCAA tourney. Not to help the other local teams. You are so off base: "Fordham is getting their act together" good luck--they will always be a bottom A10 team and, as such, you will always play them. "because the smaller program gets the emotional advantage but their is no way the RPI can take that into consideration." Play an Iona team with the RPI in the 40s Your comments/analysis are delusional---not a personal attack!

Your points are ridiculous. Go post this crap on the St Johns or Fordham board . You're adding nothing here.

While I too have felt frustration about St. John's ducking Iona for all these years, I am dismayed at the vitriol being hurled at Reksonn. IMO, his posts on this board have always been thoughtful and respectful, and he is certainly not a troll. Can we please put aside this animosity and focus on the accomplishments of this year's Gael team?
