Listen Iona sucked tonight and it was a horrible 2 game finish to the season but Iona is not winning 3 games in 3 nights with AJ being sick and they aren't going on the road and beating a pretty good Rhode Island team with IW sick. Don't think that typical bad Iona luck didn't play a major factor in how this year ended.
I do think Cluess has to make changes to give them a better chance to win 3 games in 3 nights and the Maac has to do something with their format or they will usually only see a home team like Siena or a boring defensive team like St peters or Manhattan win it.
Manhttan cost the Maac 1.6 Million tonight!

Look on the bright side, we probably couldn't afford to fly out to Stamford anyway.

New York Metropolitan area college basketball stinks, and it has for many years now. Why is this so? Any takers? College football.

I love you guys, but I cannot get down on this team, TC and his staff, or the program. And I am sure that no one on this board feels as badly as the team or the coaching staff. We are who we are - a good team in a small conference. We beat a big every few years, but mostly lose -- either by a couple of points, ala Syracuse, Virginia, Ole Miss or get creamed as by Maryland. Give me TC's style of play over the Willard years any day. Best of luck to David Laury, Jeylani Dublin, and Kristian Duravcevic. Thanks for your time at Iona and best of luck to you all in the future. Go Gaels!!! Not sure why I care or noticed but Duravcevic was not on the bench tonight, wonder what happenned there.

Give Rhode Island credit. We were outplayed, basically a continuation of the Manhattan game, except Ri is a better team. We could have lost this game by 30. All that being said, credit to cluess on another great year. Believe it or not, this is the golden age of iona basketball. CIT finals, 2 ncaas , at large. 2 nit's.

Never thought I'd see such ranting about team that won 26 games for us. We had a great season despite all the problems trying to field a full team. My hat off to the staff and players.

Expectations elevated then a very disappointing ending and we never hear from the Coach what's going on so people vent and speculate. We'll be back.

Not sure why so many here are so negative. It is college basketball and played by young players. Several games do not make a season. I feel that if Isaiah was healthy all year we have different results down the stretch. But, injuries are part of the game. Mid-majors and high majors all face matchup challenges at different parts of the season. Coach Cluess has brought Iona back to relavence and consistent success along with fostering a culture that provides structure and opportunity for these young men. Outside of David Laury's issue this past season there have been minimal problems. I have confidence moving forward. Adjustments will be made and new players found.

Too many great years but terrible finishes under Cluess.
His system will always keep us winning but will never get us to the next level.

tired of being the atlanta braves, would rather be the new york giants. regular season means nothing if you an't win the big ones, would rather be good in the postseason every few years and get a post season win

Rhode Island's arena was impressive, but their fans not so much. Lots of booing, even during Pre-game lay-ups. Tasteless signs. 40 minutes of whining at the refs . Booed the refs as they left the court and as they returned to the court at halftime. I wouldn't go back. The dateless guys under the basket reminded me of the worst HS teams I used to play against. On the positive side, I guess you could say they were passionate. Not what I expected.
