Johnathan McGriff - 5'9" PG out of Bishop McNamara (MD), Huntington Prep (WV), and Team St8ment AAU. Kid has an insane handle and a tough defender. Can break opponents ankles with his crossover. High IQ, quickness, and court vision. A slick passer that can hit the pull-up jumper or drive to the hoop while drawing contact. Cool as ice player. I would love to see us land this kid. Offers from Kent State, Rutgers, Hampton, Kansas State and UNLV. Interest from Monmouth, Niagara, Georgetown, Georgia, and Charlotte.
Scouting Reports:
'A rising sophomore with two Division I offers–Hampton and Kent State–McGriff showed off a wealth of abilities during his games Thursday; the wiry 5-foot-11 guard can distribute, create for himself with his insane handles and quickness, and is a nuisance on the defensive end. With McGriff’s skill set, the sky is the limit.' - Hoop Group Elite 2 - Day 3 Standouts- July 14, 2016
'Johnathan McGriff showed his absolutely insane handles and court vision at the 2015 CP3 Rising Stars Camp. The Class of 2019 point guard is as talented as any freshman in the country. Johnathan McGriff was unstoppable off the dribble at CP3 Camp. This season Johnathan will run point for Bishop McNamara in Maryland.' - Middle School Hoops - Johnathan McGriff destroys CP3 Camp- 09/05/2015
'Johnathan is confident and very quick off the bounce. He is a confident and highly skilled ball handler who displayed the ability to pull up on a dime and shoot. He scored 15 points in a win for his team.' Hoop Groop - 2016 Spring Jam Fest Day 1 Top Performers Apr 16, 2016
'He is the smallest player on the squad but he brings a confidence and toughness to the team that you have to love. One of the first things that we noticed about him was his speed, he gets out into the open court in a hurry and blows by defenders with no problem.' - Prep Hoops Hoops & Dream Showcase Recap 11/13/17
Here he is going toe to toe (a couple of years ago) with Cole Anthony (Archbishop Malloy and Iona recruit), the number one PG in the country - class of 2019:
Olanrewaju Olamuyiwa - 6'10" C from McDowell High School (MD) St8ment AAU. Athletic, developing big who is a standout defensively. good timing and improving all the time. Offers from Howard, Kent State and FIU. Looks from Georgetown, Michigan, FSU, PITT, LSU, Virginia Tech, UAB, Houston and Butler
Scouting Report:
'... is as difficult a defender to score on as his name is to pronounce. The rising sophomore, a 6-9 center, was an absolute force in the paint in his team’s game Friday morning, going up against a very promising rising freshman in Isaiah Todd (# 1 player 2020 ESPN -5 stars.) and more than holding his own on that end of the court. Offensively, the African import is certainly still very much a work in progress, though his general coordination and frame suggest he’ll be a wanted commodity amongst high-major coaches before long; ' - City of Basketball Love Hoop Group Elite 2: July 15 Notebook - 07/15/2016
'The 6-foot-9 freshman put his length and upside on display, leading all players with 28 rebounds (7.0 per game). Disrupted passing lanes with his tremendous length and swatted two blocks. Has a raw offensive skill set, but showed he could back his stellar defense in the scoring department.' -DMVeliteX Premier Run Standouts - DMVELITE

Does this current activity on 2019 prospects suggest that the staff has their guys lined up for 2018? Would think if they didn’t, that they would be putting all their energy into finding players for next year...
