Also, was told that DeAndre is a combo guard, and played the point as a frosh. Understand that he's a VG shooter. If KA gets his waiver, our recruiting for this year is over, but not finsihed, because as we know recruiting is never finished. As of now we'll go into next season with CC and Ricky as sophomore PG's. KA and DeAndre can fill in if necessary. Fingers crossed.

Coaches seem to be very high on Crawford, who was at the Quinny game. He's being compared to Tre Bowman. When I mentioned that Crawford didn't look (video) as athletic as Bowman, I was reminded that Tre came to Iona as a twenty one year old, while Crawford (video) was 17 or 18. Point taken.

DeAndre Turner, 6'3" SG who averaged 21 ppg shooting 38.2% from the field and 36.7% from the 3 last year at Broward CC. He is reported to have good range and gets to the hoop. He is very strong. Reportedly had looks from University of Arkansas Little Rock and Cal State Bakersfield. Story on his background: www.miamiherald.com/sports/college/state-college-sports/article4243340.htmlWow very generous and inspiring job by the Rivers' family. Hope the young man succeeds here and in the rest of his life.

While numbers make it appear that DeAndre Turner closes out recruiting, pending the KA waiver, I'm told (third hand) that recruiting is NOT OVER for this year, as we are still in the hunt for a couple of kids. Naturally, I have no names, but an interesting tidbit,n/t/l.

Very sad for KA. Could not continue last seasons momentum.

Seems to me need a true PG. Can we get Machado to come back for a summer and train with McGill?

Thought it might be time to update. I only feel sure about three starters, assuming Ced is ready to go. The hardest workers will get the other two spots.
DEFINITE STARTERS G: Casimir G/F: Much F: Washington
OTHER SCHOLARSHIP PLAYERS G: Proctor G/F: Crawford G: McGill G: Turner F: Bessick F: Mitchell F: Svandrlik F: Hines G: Probably a transfer F: Most likely a JUCO
WALK-ONS G: Benjamin Nwokeabia F: Saren Westrop G: Dashaw Richmond

Really need to have one of the 2 remaining scholarships to be either a 5th year sr or JUCO big who can come in and start from day one. I expect the MAAC to be improved next year, with other programs returning lots of players.

It is very possible.

Think we're looking at January 2017 as most likely scenario for Ced's full return.

Not for nothing, but if the past few years are any indication, then I'm guessing we'll only have 12 scholarship players.
