For the few of you interested, potential for another Iona national championship tonight. Tara Jameson runs the 10,000 meter in Oregon at about 10:00 PM tonight on ESPN. Not the favorite, but had the fastest qualifying time among the 24 finalists. Go Tara!

Tara ran a fantastic race. Was in first place with two laps to go and faded to 7th in a field loaded with Olympic athletes. Finished in 32:52.92, which I believe is a personal best. Congratulations Tara and good luck in the future! Another all-time Gael great!

greg, I watched the race and it was a great run by Tara. About 25 runners in the event, and Tara never got a mention until she took the lead, and then the announcers mentioned that Iona had a VG XC program. They also mentioned that she was from Wicklow, Ireland, which is in the same county, same name, that my father came from. Knowing that, I got to speak with her at the last two T & F luncheons, and she comes across as a very nice young lady and a great credit to Iona.
