OT, normally I am one of the first to defend you but you are off base on this. Maybe some of us were not having a good day and didn't want to talk about that horrible day's memories.
After attending Iona's memorial honoring the 17 Gaels (15 on 9/11 and two first responders who lost their lives later), this 9/11 was going be tough enough. Throw in memories of my wife's passing this May and the fact that her sister worked in the Twin Towers and thankfully survived and I know I was in no mood to look at a computer, never mind post anything.

Tootie.......You have always been a voice of reason on this board...I have seldom cried in my life, but since my stroke 5 years ago, I cry uncontrolable often...It is embarassing...Doctors tell me this happens often with older people especially those that have controlled that emotion....Memories fill a vast storage space in the brain and are brought out by them....Thus the tears......
Yesterday I cried most of the day as I thought of those men and women who knew death was sure, but still voted with immense courage to give their lives so others may live...
I waited patiently throughout the day for a posting in tribute...When none was forthcoming and instead trivial postings, my emotions exploded...
It was not the first time I had seen this type of self sacrifice, and memories forced the tears......
Sorry...I am well aware that my postings are not often what people want to hear, but they are in my mind what they should hear...!!!
Note...Your postings have not gone unnoticed and they are appreciated...!!!!!

Why would I discuss such personal feelings on a basketball message board?

Why would I discuss such personal feelings on a basketball message board? CTbill Ctbill........Because to ease your conscious, if you have one, you have found a ridiculous reason to crawl back into your Conn. shell and hide from ANY problems...It is obvious you live in a small world of self gratifaction and want nothing to do with any problem that dose not involve you and your small world directly and even that is doubtful... You know full well that we have a ''OPEN DISCUSSION'' forum for just such comments, but you and many others choose to ignore it...And what the hell personal feeling could you possibly have...Were you sorry you did not have a vote to storm the cockpit area...I know my nature and know what my vote would have been....LETS ROLL..... Climb back in, and don't forget to lock the door...

Why would I discuss such personal feelings on a basketball message board? Because sometimes you need to vent frustrations or emotions. I know I have during the past few months. While I have met only a couple of my fellow Gaels on this board, I do consider us "Iona family". While some of my messages were made through teary eyes (as I am now), my ability to do so has helped at times. Some might say why not reach to family and friends. While this is true, they are hurting as much (and in some cases more) than I am. Being able to post as been a much needed therapy at times. Hopefully the need to "vent" will lessen once hoops start and once the Rangers season starts but I fear that my love for all of my sports teams will not be the same - which has been the case with the Mets recent surge to the playoffs.

Stick to the facts u old peace of shit, u come on here every day to stir things up without facts, u lie about stuff to rile people up. But to do it on 9/11, to lie that people posted trivial things you reached a new low U r a lonely man, with nothing else to do, u have no friends or the friends u have dont like u, like fhe ones that wouldnt go to the hospital when u had your stroke and sent their son instead of missing the end of the game, i was sitting behind u So keep writing nonsense on here to get a rise out of people but stick to the facts But it shows how self absorbed u r to do it on 9/11

Read this post tell me if it is not a post from a borderline mental person that is at most one step from completely losing it?...With this fear in mind I will make a promise to try hard not to be the one that puts him over the top... 1970...... You have more then once mentioned my trip to the hospital more then 5 years ago... That person who rode in the ambulance was a young man I knew since birth...He was at one time a Police Officer under my command...He went because he was familiar with the procedure and I was in the first stage of a 6 month semi-coma........A thought before sending your juvenile sticking your tongue out postings would go a long way to your recovery back to sanity....Friends I have by the hundreds not including the thousands now gone..... Last thought......I am so tired of that old lame excuse...''I was to busy comforting those that lost love ones''...It sure covers all bases...

The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battle-field, and patriot grave, to every living heart and hearthstone, all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.
