Brandon Weatherspoon - 6'4" SG out of Canton, Mississippi and Holmes CC. A lefty that can shoot and is reported to be a strong leader. Very athletic. Coming out of high school he held offers from Mississippi State, Georgetown and Southern Miss. As a senior in HS he averaged 24.7ppg, 4.3 apg, 9.3 rpg and 3 spg. Older brothers Quinndary (4★ recruit, first-team All-SEC and 49th overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs and currently on a 2way contract with the Spurs) and Nick (4★ recruit and Top 100, All- Freshman Team SEC )were stars at Mississippi State.
Offers:New Mexico State, UAB, and East Carolina.

Weatherspoon looks good. But consider, he's a JUCO with only two years left, and in one he'd be behind Jolly. Is it possible that he has three years of eligibility?

I do think the one area this team is lacking is a bonafide 3 point sharp shooter, or with today's game at least not enough of them.

Seems like that’s what the staff is targeting. Myers was very good from 3 last year, but don’t think he had the ability to create his own shot. Can never have too many shooters.

Like everyone else on the team, Myers will continue to develop parts of his game that need improvement. He will be a more complete player next season as he will have had time in Coach Pitino's system and a year to physically mature. With that said, from the recruiting that we know about, I think the staff is looking for an SG and an SF that can stretch defenses with their shooting... but he wants athletic guys who can play defense as well. I think Coach would rather recruit complete players who averaged 13ppg than a one-trick pony gunslinger who averaged 20 pts per game.
