Back to losing, two game losing streak. Rough year for these kids, no need to continue dragging them through the mud. Not dragging them through the mud but stating the obvious. They just lost again this time 19-1. I'm keeping track of the team for those who haven't been paying attention.

Hats off to Canisius. They gave both #6 Miami and PAC12 power Arizona a run for their money before bowing out in the NCAA tournament today. They looked like they belonged on the field against both teams.

Basically a Midseason update for all as it relates to the baseball team.
Current Record is 5-21. Last year we won 6 games so this year is definitely an improvement over last year.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: - Team Batting Average - .223 - Team Totals for HR - 10 - Team Totals for RBI's - 92 - Team Total AB's/Strikeouts - 821/283 - 34.47% rate of striking out. - Team Errors - 36 - Team ERA - 9.24 (High) - Walks Total - 174
2023 Grads Commitment: - Carter Groen OF TX - 6'4 210 bi body with potential. FB Velo at 88MPH. Top 500 National Rank. Preseason All American Texas Region HM. - Kyle McSorley C NJ - 6'4 223 PG Rating is a 9. Kyle McSorley is a 2023 C/RHP/1B with a 6-4 223 lb. frame from Old Bridge, NJ who attends Old Bridge. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and well-proportioned strength throughout. Recorded a 5.14 second forty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that received from a wider, slightly side-saddle stance with soft hands and athletic footwork out of the crouch. Gains ground towards his target, stays compact with his movements and exhibits a direct mid-line transfer to get into release. Displayed mobility by switching to a one-knee receiving stance midway through drills and produced tons of present arm strength from both positions. Produced accurate throws up to 84 mph from behind the dish during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with deliberate pace and segmented movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the mid-80s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 87 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. Max-effort delivery with some tempo, timing issues but showcased legitimate arm strength and throws strikes. Flashed a pair of developing secondary offerings with an 11-5 shaped curveball with gradual depth and slightly faded changeup that he tends to slow down his arm on. Will continue to improve with minor refinements mechanically and should continue to add velocity. Left-handed hitter that hits from a spread stance with a lower, tight hand set and low back elbow. Generates good hip torque with rotational weight shift into launch. Intent based swing with lightning quick hands, tons of strength at impact and loads of present bat speed. Middle-of-the field approach with good feel for the barrel and legitimate usable power to the pullside. Athletic, physically imposing prospect with huge arm strength behind the plate and prodigious power potential moving forward, will continue to improve with minor adjustments mechanically on both sides of the ball. Verbal commitment to Iona University. Named to the 2023 Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent Student. - Bruce Wadiak RHP NJ - 6'2 185 FB Velo at 91. Potential. - Brendan Callanan SS NJ - 7 PG grade. Brendan Callanan is a 2023 SS/RHP with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Basking Ridge, NJ who attends Ridge. Recorded a 7.54 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with plenty of room to fill out and add additional strength. Primary middle infielder with a developing defensive skill set; uses long strides to range laterally and get into fielding position with a slightly deep funnel out in front and deliberate movements into the throwing process. Showed developing arm strength recorded up to 73 miles per hour to deliver online and accurate throws across the diamond in drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a fairly simple delivery and athletic movements down the slope. Works from a lower three-quarters arm slot that produces heavy arm-side life to the bottom of the zone. Throws plenty of strikes with command to both halves of the plate with two-pitch mix. Fastball worked up to 78 miles per hour in this look with developing feel for a slower breaking ball that varied in shape and disrupted the hitters timing. Right-handed hitter that hits from an open stance with a high back elbow and high hand set. Uses a hover trigger with rotational lower half mechanics to produce line drive impact to the middle-of-the field when on time. Developing feel for the barrel with consistent bat-to-ball skills and potential gap power as he continues to mature and add strength. Excellent Student. - Jancarlos Frias MIF NY - 8.5 PG Grade. Jancarlos Frias is a 2023 2B/SS with a 5-7 160 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends All Hallows. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a higher waist, some present strength to frame and additional room to grow. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, quick first step and shows fluid actions with athleticism, fields it out front, quick transfer and release, works on top of throws and shows carry, repeats well and remains accurate on throws. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; simple mechanics and swings with intent in the box. Longer swing path through the zone, does a nice job of remaining direct to the ball and getting extension out front. Quick hands and works to the middle of the field with comfort, good bat to ball skills. Good student. Named to Fall Northeast Top Prospect List. - Carlo Lalomia RHP NJ - FB Velo 88..Not much information i can find. - Saul Mata 1B NY - Can't find anything.
Player Interests: - Michael Boyce RHP IL (Highly Unlikely signing as getting interest from top programs) -Thomas Maher LHP NY (Highly Unlikely signing as getting interest from top programs) -Colin Ahart 1B NJ - Interest from Gonzaga, Iona and FDU. -Sal Serici OF NJ - Possible singing based upon schools. -Riley Smith OF MD - Possible Signing based upon schools -William Anema RHP NJ - High Likelihood - Interest from Iona, Marist, Sacred Heart, Pace, Manhattanville College.
