All comes down to the finale!
Win and QU/Siena drop one game and we are the 1 seed.
Win and QU/Siena go 4-for-4 and we are the 2 seed.
Lose and we are likely a 4 seed.

We are now appearing on many brackets, though Rider is appearing on slightly more: www.bracketmatrix.com/We are in the play in on most, and a 16 in all, but if we get the bid it looks like all it will take is 1 or two big upsets in low or low to mid major conferences and we could bump out of the play in. However I expect the NCAA to jump on putting a Maac team in the play in because we aren't usually in it and as far as money goes we are one of the smaller leagues. Usually I have zero interest in the play in game but this year I want to be in it because I think we have zero chance of winning a 16 vs 1 game, especially if its against Virginia, who will never lose this game 2 years in a row. Getting a win would be nice, though it's not a truly legit NCAA win. I do feel that a loss in this game would be a major black eye to a program and a coach who already has a reputation for not being able to win an NCAA game, I believe others don't agree but you won't be able to convince me this doesn't enhance our reputation as NCAA losers. Now first things first let's try to secure our 8th straight NCAA/NIT bid with a win Friday (and some help), and then it's on to the Maac tourney!

I agree that the MAAC champ is extremely likely to be in the PIG this year. Fresh blood! I am bummed that they won't put the SWAC and MEAC winners against each other, setting up an NEC-MAAC matchup, which would be kinda fun. But that's minor. I hear ya re the perception of yet another NCAA loss, and I also agree that 1 seeds losing won't become commonplace any time soon. I don't think anyone will think worse of us if we lose by 5 to Prairie View than if we lose by 40 to Gonzaga, though. I will say this, though, and of course this is just my opinion: if we play in and win the PIG game, we will likely perform better in the 1-16 game than we would if we had gotten a regular 16. And I do think it would look "good" for us to perform well as a 16, PIG or not. Losing by 15 given where we were early on in the year would be tremendous. Losing by 40, not so much. And make no mistake, we would be at least a 25-point dog in a game vs any 1 seed.

Looks like we are getting the real Rider, who has bounced back to win a few games in a row. Really want this one because an NIT bid in the back pocket would make this a successful season no matter what happens. Just think about how bad things were after losing to Siena a few weeks ago...

Very true but Rider will be getting the real Iona. Ricky has been playing "lights out" and will want this to be 4 NCAA appearances in a row. Also, looks like Agee has settled down and is playing within himself. Perez's outside shooting will be the key to victory. Go Gaels!

Was checking some of the various bracketology sites today to see if any updates showed Iona, but few do. I think it's hilarious that after all these years people still doubt Iona. I wonder if the coaching staff would make their team aware of this. On the other hand they probably just wants them worrying about Rider, but who knows.
As far as Canisius, they should obviously win tonight because of that easy schedule they had left, right?

I think we have underrated this recent IONA team.....The 3 man core has been terrific and has been carrying the major load...If Ristanovic, Nikolic, and Perez can continue to show promise and IMO contribute, the most recent line of RYDER -4 1/2 is a bit off and enticing tO IONA betters...We will be rested and full of fire. It is important that we come out in a consistent manner and not allow Ryder to gain momentum. And we must not fall into complecency. Cluess must use his time outs strategically.....!!!!! OT

I won't be able to watch the game live at 7pm. Will it be available on ESPN3 or ESPN+ after the completion?
